Such a heartbreaking story but one which is ultimately uplifting. The honesty and bravery with which the author shares her experience is very moving and I suspect many younger readers will be shocked that this sort of practice was common within living history. These stories need to be told and these facts need to be remembered, so we can learn from them and not repeat them.

A harrowing and poignant story of a young girl who due to the time ( marriage before babies ) found herself in a terrifying situation of having her baby taken away from her , and the damage to her mental health that followed . Wonderfully and frankly told .
