Great tips and easy exercises. I have a bujo and I have been thinking of incorporating one-line drawings to my journal alongside doodles and zentangles. So this book comes in handy. The well-explained models are perfect training to start one-line drawing.
I think I've found myself a new hobby!

I've tried to draw line art by looking at cool Etsy and Pinterest art and copying it, but it never looked right. 15-Minute Drawing: One-Line Drawing by Heinke Nied is exactly what any weekend warrior or hobby artist needs to get started.

Along with some great warm ups, there are six sections: Flowers & leaves, Plants, Faces, Lifestyle, Still life and Celebrations.

You don't need to start with Flowers & leaves and go chronologically through the book. Instead, after doing the warm up, flip to whichever section interests you best and start from there. I like how Heinke Nied starts each section with an easier line drawing, then progressively the drawings get more elaborate and detailed.

This book is best read when you're feeling curious, because believe me, you'll surprise yourself with how much fun you're having.

I can’t wait to get doodling. These examples are really easy to follow. The step by step guide is straight forward and even I, a not very competent artist, think I could follow this and produce something good.

As someone who never leaves the house without a small sketchbook in my bag, I jumped at the chance to get a peek into "15-Minute Drawing: One-Line Drawing'' by Heinke Nied. I use my book to jot down inspiration when it comes to me as I can't always rely on remembering later. I don't draw well at all, (hello, inner critic!) but I've recently found that a simple sketch with a black line can come to life beautifully with some added watercolor. I've also recently been introduced to "fodder" which I love to make and cut out for my junk journal pages. This book is a wonderful guide to making these design elements.

This book is full of inspiration for all, divided into subject sections and breaks those drawings down into 3 levels of difficulty. We are not talking full out scenes, but single designs to inspire and get you started with your sketch. I particularly liked the section on plants and profiles and plan to practice on these areas to improve my skill set. While these are simple designs, they, like anything else, will require practice to increase your comfort level.

I chose this book because when I lead groups or classes I like to add an artistic element that group members can learn and use at home. This 15 minute one line drawing instructional book is straightforward, approachable, and user friendly. I appreciated the tip about warming up your wrist to prepare for more detailed one line drawing. This is a technique I will use in my practice as a group facilitator. The illustrations are lovely and I enjoyed the inspirations at the back of the book, as well as the finishing details the author added to each one line drawing.

Oh, I loved this! I started reading it thinking I couldn’t draw, and have finished feeling really proud of my sketches! It really is that simple! You don’t need any special equipment, previous knowledge, or natural ability, this book walks you through step by step, and has you producing quality line drawings in a matter of moments. From beautiful flowers and foods, to faces and celebrations, this book walks you through effortlessly. The difficulty rating is a neat feature, as well as the inspirational gallery at the end.
Grab a pen, a notebook, and you’re ready to go - it’s that simple!

One line art, what a unique and fun concept.

What I found so appealing is that this book is pitched as 15 minute sketches and it delivers.

The book begins talking about simple materials - all you really need is a piece of paper and some sort of utensil - and then it goes into the practice.

The book begins with steps of warming up to loosen your wrist and then teaches you a simple, yet elegant one line rose.

From there, the book is broken up into sections such as flowers, other plants, people, and even some cute cups and animals.

Each doodle has step by steps on how to draw it in clear and concise language.

This book is literally for anyone who wants to draw and can be a fun practice for those who have zero skills and even those who have ample skills.

The book ends with a nice section on keeping a sketchbook practice.

Overall, this book is fantastic and would make a great gift for ones’ self or anyone else.

I think this book is beautiful, creative and honestly suitable for all ages! The doodles and sketches are pretty, and the instructions are clear as well. There are so many beautiful designs, and. I think it’s great that all the drawings were explained through step by step sketches. There is a variety of subjects to draw, from portraits to food, and from animals to plants. This book is simplistic, but beautiful, and it provides an easy and calming outlet for artists to learn new sketches,

What a fantastic, stress relief book! I absolutely love drawing (even if I can't draw to save my life) so this was right up my alley!

The book contains an introduction, a description of one line drawing, a key to explain the level of difficulty and even the tools you can or could use.

It then starts you on a warm up, having a go a what I'm going to call squiggles, to simply warm up your wrists to get ready for the drawing.

It includes flowers, leaves, plants, faces (which you can add abstract or a bohemian style) and even a postured person. It then moves to every day items, cups, books and food. It also includes still life, celebrations and details on keeping a scetchbook.

Each and every drawing is beautiful and very well done with an easy to follow step-by-step. Highly recommended for anyone attempting to draw or even professionals.

I love this book! I tried to make draw some of the flowers and cannot wait to try some of the harder drawings.

THIS IS MY KIND OF ART! From my favourite doodling patterns to my best art ever (just kidding not!), I find my best art teacher here in this compilation!

This book is great and I can't wait to get drawing! The tips are perfect for beginners and I love the variety of drawings in the book. It includes holidays, fruits, flowers, animals and even some lifestyle drawings which look so cool.

I loved this book! I felt it was very easy to follow along with the demonstrations and the instructions were not too challenging. Even as a beginner, I felt like I could jump right in and follow along. This is a great book and I will be recommending it to others!

I chose this book as I love doodling and have a BuJo that I feel would look cute with some fun little one-line drawings. There are 6 different sections within the book - Flowers & Leaves, Plants, Faces, Lifestyle, Still Life and Celebrations. The examples provided within all sections are easy to follow then gradually get harder towards the end of the section.

I think with a bit of practice you could really get good at one-line drawing following this book. I would love to own a physical version of this book so I could trace and follow some of the guides until I feel more confident attempting them on my own. I'll be adding this one to my wishlist!

I had so much fun reviewing this book, I have 2 daughters, one will be 15 and one will be 18 soon , so I thought maybe this will be something that we could do together because we love to draw.

So as a good mom I decided I would try first and I love the details in this beautiful book. I love the step-by-step instructions Teaching you each technique because I am a very visualized person I have to see in order to do.

I feel this book can be for a wide range of ages, Because it is very well laid out and again, there are pictures showing you step by step And she also gives you instructions in writing.

This is seriously fun to try. I never did one-line drawing before, but I saw it on social media and was excited to try it. It starts out simple, so everyone can follow and it gets progressively harder. My drawings didn't look much like the book, but it was to try. :)

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. And the book itself is so pretty! A fun book to have and learn from.

This book is absolutely lovely and encouraging and it just made me rediscover my love for sketching and be confident to keep at it.

I truly enjoyed this art drawing tutorial book. Lovely drawings and my favorite is the section with faces.

Simple to follow and a fun way to learn doing drawings for beginners or if you need inspiration. Good variety so you can try different things to draw.

What a beautiful little book. Well written, clever and quite helpful to anyone wishing to draw what he/she sees, I think this is a perfect companion for those who like to just doodle and "make stuff", as I do.

This is a whimsical little book with quirky titles like "A Cup of Calm" (coffee), "A Pleasant Evening" (wine), and "Home Sweet Home" (a pineapple). There are chapters on drawing flowers, plants, faces, lifestyle, still life, and holiday themes.

There are some warmup exercises to help you get your muscles used to drawing spirals (just like old fashioned handwriting classes!), wavy spirals, and something that looks like random lines. The illustrations show how you can overlay watercolor to create some really aesthetically pleasing line art.

I have always been fascinated by one-line drawings. I could not understand how they were done so beautifully. Follow along with her practice suggestions to get your brain and hand used to making fluid directional changes. Plan your drawing and then create your own one-line masterpiece.

A lot of fun, relaxing and meditative (as least the way I'm using it), I appreciate styles and techniques I can practice right away.

With examples in categories from flowers to faces to celebrations, there will surely be lots for a reader to try drawing. I enjoy the idea of this art form being accessible to anyone with a paper and writing utensil while being short enough that most people could take just a few moments of their day to work on one-line drawings.
This is a great book for anyone looking for an art form that encourages relaxation and requires minimal materials.

I love doing arts and crafts but I'm not actually that good at the art stuff so I decided to look into line art and this is the perfect book for it!

Everything is laid out nice and neat so it is easy to follow.

I LOVE THIS! I am so drawn to this style of art (no pun intended) and truly had not even considered whether I "could" do it myself. This short and sweet guide packs a huge punch. It makes one-line drawing seem both approachable and expansive interms of creative potential. As a painter, I love the idea of perfecting this technique and then filling in with loose watercolors or gouache, but I also love that I can idly practice anywhere with just a notebook and pencil. I appreciate the short end pages on keeping a sketchbook for this reason, as well as the little pages of inspiration for taking it further. Thank you for sharing this galley with me - I can't wait to get started on my new ideas!

This is such a fun book! Heinke gives a very brief introduction and warmup section and then shows how to do continuous line drawings of plants, flowers, faces, holiday designs, and whimsical things like coffee cups and butterflies. You can add watercolor elements when you’re done if you like. They are pretty easy to follow along with but look really great. Even kids or people who don’t think they can draw could follow along and be pretty successful with practice. Well recommended.

Really great easy to follow ideas for drawing with step by step instructions and many different categories. For someone that doesn't have a lot of skills but really wants to draw this helps make drawing approachable.

This is a lovely book that encourages us to develop our drawing skills in a very manageable way by committing just 15 minutes a day.

I was amazed by the things this author/artist shows that we can draw with just one continuous line.

Alongside a very helpful introduction which informs of the tools of the trade alongside other helpful hints, the main chapters all focus on topics, these include: 'flowers & leaves', 'plants', 'faces', 'lifestyle', 'still life' and 'celebrations'.

I have no artistic skills to speak of, but this is one form of drawing I just had to try. The author made it so easy with an introduction to line art, an explanation of what tools and materials would be required, and warm-up exercises.

The book has different sections such as flowers, plants, and faces. Each section also has three different levels of drawings according to your skill level. I'm still at level one, but I look forward to improving the craft. With the step-by-step guides, it won't be long until I am level three.

There is an inspiration gallery with various images to practice, and Heinke shows you how to add even more beauty to the line art with watercolour.

I actually really enjoyed this. I was a bit skeptical going into it as I normally don’t read or utilize art “how-to” books but this one was different. The cover is beautiful and jumped out at me. Then once I started looking at its contents it inspired me to actually try. I enjoyed that there were warm ups to get into the idea of leaving the pen on paper. I love that it’s broken down by category of topic and within each category there are different levels of difficulty. I also felt like I didn’t not need to work from cover to cover and it was okay to jump around.

I'm your average less-than-artistic girl who very much wants to be even just slightly artsy for fun. This book was perfect! It had simple, easy to follow instructions and it was a lot of fun! I highly recommend for anyone who wants to improve their artistic skills or just fill in a little of their spare time with a new hobby!
