I love this workbook. It is great for any homeschool or elementary classroom. In this book are over 100 activities like puzzles, short nature lessons and writing activities. I love how it is organized into sections: Forests, deserts, seashore, grasslands, and wetlands. The directions are all so easy to follow and expanding on each activity has endless possibilities. We can’t wait to use this in our homeschool. My son is 5 and I have been reading it to him but when he is older it will be perfect. It will help inspire your child to enjoy and explore nature. Your going to love this workbook, we sure do.
This workbook seems perfect for home schooling or supplementary reading. The activities are interesting and engaging!
This is so cute and informative. As an adult, even I found it interesting and fun, and I learned things or was reminded of my school days when I learned it before
Absolutely love this nature school workbook. Anyone homeschooling with a focus on nature will love this. If you're not homeschooling and you have a kiddo that loves nature, you'll love this!
I’m always on the lookout for high-quality educational resources for homeschooling, and this workbook really impressed me. It’s a fantastic way to dive into the world’s diverse ecosystems, from wetlands and grasslands to deserts and temperate forests. What I love most about this resource is how it brings nature to life through a wide range of hands-on activities that go beyond traditional worksheets. With puzzles, quizzes, and interactive challenges, this workbook is designed to spark curiosity and make learning about the natural world feel like a fun adventure.
As a homeschooling parent, I appreciate that the workbook offers not only a comprehensive look at different biomes, but also gives ample opportunity to extend learning with activities that can be adjusted to suit different age levels and learning speeds. The mix of plant and animal studies, landforms, and climate science is perfectly balanced, providing my children with a holistic view of how nature works across the globe.
I’m eager for my kids to be old enough to explore this workbook in depth, as it seems like a fantastic way to keep them engaged with science while fostering their love of the outdoors. I also look forward to seeing more resources from these authors in the future. Huge thanks to Quarry Books and NetGalley for the digital review copy—I’m excited to share this wonderful educational tool with other parents.
I was drawn to this book, as a nature lover and homeschooling parent. This workbook is an engaging and educational adventure with fascinating insights into distinct biomes from around the globe– wetlands, grasslands, seashore, deserts and temperate forests. There is exploration of plants, animals, landforms, climate, lifecycles and various ecosystems. There are so many activities, worksheets, puzzles and quizzes in this workbook, with plenty of options to extend the learning as needed. I am excited for my children to be old enough to utilise this fantastic resource! I am looking forward to more resources from these authors.
Many thanks to Quarry Books for the digital review copy, via NetGalley. This review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.
I was immediately drawn to this title given my love for nature and history of teaching ecology programs to students.
This workbook breaks the material down SO WELL for younger readers! Not only can they go through the workbook to learn about each biome, there are pages allowing them to do their own field work and get hands-on guidance to experience what they’re reading about. The workbook is broken down into 5 sections, one for each biome. Readers will explore the Temperate Forests, Deserts, Seashore, Grasslands, and Wetlands, beginning with an introduction and common terminology for each biome. Readers can then explore the ecosystems within those biomes, the life that can be found in each, specific parts of the ecosystems (rotting logs, animal adaptations, tidal patterns, carbon cycling underground aquifers, etc.). Each biome’s section finishes with a quiz to test everything they’ve learned.
After reading through the workbook, this would be the perfect addition to middle-grade biology/ecology classrooms, and even to 4-H groups around the country. As someone that graduated with a Bachelor’s in Wildlife and Conservation Biology, this workbook is actually a fantastic tool for giving students a taste of what it’s like to take professional notes in the field.
Overall, this was a beautifully illustrated and wonderfully informational workbook. This was the type of book I would have loved as a child, and I can’t wait until my nephew is old enough to use this!

I think that this workbook is so creative and fun. I know that it's geared towards a younger audience, but I think I would have fun doing the activities as an adult who loves nature and the outdoors. As a writing teacher, I also think that there's some sections in here that could be adapted to become writing exercises, which could be fun. Overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely buy a copy for myself, both as a person and as a teacher.
Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own.
This workbook is extremely well made. The lesson is usually followed by a let's explore which is a activity to help cement what they learned. I could see myself using this book
I love this workbook and it will fit in perfectly for my speech therapy kids. Not only would I be working on vocabulary, language and articulation goals, I would be providing wonderful information relative to the natural world. I learned some new things myself. Can’t wait to introduce this to my kids
