Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from Netgalley. Despite my initial uncertainty about spirit guide premise, this was an enjoyable read. I enjoyed the family drama elements and Sasha getting to know the various people she saw in her near - death experience, although I had to suspend disbelief at much of the premise. I felt Jacobs could have made it clearer who was narrating at different points of the book, and the ending felt rushed and unsatisfying, but this was an engaging book and I would be interested in reading further books by the author.

i was captivated by Sasha's story from the beginning. it must be quite a weight to have a near death experience. because you must feel like you've 'seen' the end and must now what? change? grab life? do better? do more? and then why does it take something so drastic to make us stand back or sit down and think what this is all about(you see it truly got into my head haha) no bad thing and tells me how much i enjoyed this book.
i love the thought of a spirit guide. ive never thought of one being quite like Zinnia which gave a light touch to the book.
Sash has survived her near death experience and comes back kicking with a purpose in mind. but before all this happened there was life questioning her. so navigating after the vent might lead her to do the right or rash thing? and navigating her life now doesn't seem so easy. there is one more thing she's now got a spirit guide Zinnia who was a little out there but just gorgeous to meet.
this book felt like a comforting book. not just seeing how Sasha navigated things, but also the comfort and support she got from her guide but also what it took to ask for help, be open to it.
we all need people. we all need guides. they can come from within, or others. this book was beautiful exploration of so many things and i enjoyed every part of it. an exploration of self awareness and growth. of what we seek and need. and then what we choose.
i definitely want my own guide please!
i love a good book that does make me think. but at the same time answers those questions in a way so i dont get to loop in my own head for too long. this book has a wonderful way of looking at things and writing about them. it was warming and heartfelt and i just really enjoyed my time with it.
