This is a series of short vignettes that tell about Catholic saints and men and women religious who contributed to the faith. Told as a narrative in which children learn from a peer, or even have a visitation from the saint, this is an engaging way to teach about the Catholic faith. I like that readers can turn to a particular story to learn about Archbishop Romero or St. Juan Diego, or they can read straight through.
This is a refreshing collection of saints both familiar and less familiar that would be a great gift for a First Communicant.

I love this! Teaching children the truth of the Bible in a way that's easily understandable is a beautiful thing.
This book is a lovely way to engage children in the Christian world and the stories inspired by scripture. The children of the modern world step back through time to visit a Christian tale. What makes this so interesting for my little one is that there are questions from the modern world that are fed into the different worlds where each story is told with humour and real depth of character. The food of the time is tasted, the cells of the monks of Lindisfarm are visited and the apostles’ fishing nets are thrown out and carried back. This gives children a way into what could be dry events in history and brought characters and places to life.
