Description
It was early November, and up in the sky
fireworks banged, whizzed and popped.
Dot wanted to cry.
Dot, like so many cats, is terrified of fireworks.
But when she flees her house to escape the big bangs, she finds herself lost and alone. How ever will she find her way home?
With engaging rhyming verse and adorable illustrations, this book teaches children the value of communication and honesty – that it‘s ok to be scared, worried or confused, and to ask for help from others.

I love this story. From a pet parent whose pet is scared of loud noises like fireworks too, I felt this deeply. I wish there were more animals for the cat to search for on its quest back home, I was getting into the rhythm of that section and then it was home. I did love the overall story and the illustrations and I think my kids would enjoy this story as well.

It is a cute picture book. It has rhymes and repeated language, which is good for little future readers.
I thought it had good illustrations as well. I would recommend this book.
