Description
Kathryn meets Todd, a charming IT expert for the police department. He coaxes her into a brief relationship and turns a normal breakup into a reign of terror. Todd isn’t just obsessed—he’s inside Kathryn’s home network.
He doesn’t have to be in her house to watch her. Or hear her.
He sees her text messages—on his screen.
He can follow her car without ever leaving his house.
And he even tells her why.
“You are mine. And I don’t share.”
When Todd asks Kathryn if she wants to see death coming, she tells him no. Now she waits for it every day. Dismissed by officers, Kathryn builds a case police can no longer ignore. But the more she learns about Todd’s past, the more she suspects he might be tied to the unsolved murder of a woman she has only one thing in common with: Todd.
And if she’s right, she might be next . . .

Haunting, harrowing and compelling read.
From the very first page this book grabs the attention of the reader and doesn't let go. So compelling to read you could easily mistake it for a psychological thriller not a true story but a true story it is. Such an addictive read I would have finished it in one sitting if my kindle hadn't ran out of charge.
Unfollow me is more than a True Crime book, it is a commentary on the vulnerable isolating situations people can quickly find themselves in and how society too often can turn their backs and be manipulated by the accused, how technology in this modern world can just as quickly be used against us and confronts head on the lasting psychological impact. It shows the judicial system that is too often set up to make the victims feel like criminals jumping through hoops just trying to get the justice that they deserve.
Kathryn story is written in such compelling way that the reader can feel the emotion on every page. Thank you Kathryn for writing and sharing your story - it is to easy for people to judge a situation without walking in someone else's shoes but the bravery and resilience to put pen to paper and write this book should be commended.
This book is a must read for all true crime fans and beyond. It stands as a harrowing reminder of the hidden dangers of stalking, its lasting impact that is too often overlooked and which too many people face alone.
5 stars feels not enough for this book and it will stay with me for a long time to come.
Thanks you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion, all opinion and thoughts are my own.
“How bad can a stalker story be?” Evidently, traumatising. And that’s putting it lightly.
‘Unfollow Me’ is a devastating and harrowing account of one woman’s fight for survival; not just against her stalker, but also against the systemic injustices she faced as a victim.
By just 35% in, I myself was already mentally exhausted by Todd; his manipulation, persistence, and sheer delusion. Sure, it’s easy to spot the red flags in hindsight (especially the part where she finds out he’s a freelance IT contractor for the police department BRUHHH). But as a woman in her 40s with two failed marriages and a heavy emotional load, Kathryn was already vulnerable, and Todd knew exactly how to exploit that.
And if you think he was unbearable in the beginning, it only got worse after she took legal action. The way the American judicial system failed her, again and again, was so infuriating to read. The lack of accountability from the police departments, and their indifference, the loopholes Todd went through just to keep intimidating Kathryn amidst their legal battle…it’s appalling how stalking victims are treated, let alone women in general.
So I don’t blame Kathryn one bit for choosing to live off-grid now. What’s tragic is that she HAD to, while Todd remains free today to obsess over his next potential target. I truly can only wish her so much peace and healing from here on out.
‘Unfollow Me’ is not an easy read, but it’s a necessary one. And that’s the only reason I’m giving it a 5 stars, even though I don’t typically rate memoirs. It’s a cautionary tale that unfortunately every woman should know just because sometimes, “block him” isn’t enough.
Thank you NetGalley and After Dark Ink Publishing Co. for the e-ARC.

From the very first page, Unfollow Me had me completely hooked. Kathryn Caraway’s gripping account of her experience with a relentless stalker is both chilling and deeply moving. I found myself unable to put the book down, drawn into her journey to reclaim peace of mind while navigating a system that seemed powerless to protect her.
What stood out most was how the stalker’s tactics extended beyond direct contact—reaching into Kathryn’s life through her acquaintances and social media. It was a stark reminder of how vulnerable we can be in the digital age, and how one person’s obsession can ripple outward, affecting every corner of someone’s life.
I will definitely recommend this book to any of my patrons that are interested in true crime. I am looking forward to Kathryn's next book.
