Description
When her mirror twin goes missing, Casey is led to a deadly paradise where no one escapes…
A dark, pulse-pounding psychological thriller from Bonnie Traymore.
Casey and Nora are mirror twins, identical—sort of. Casey is right-handed, Nora is left-handed. Their moles sit on opposite cheeks. In terms of personality, they are also diametrically opposed. So, when her high-strung sister disappears after a fight with her husband, Casey shouldn’t be as concerned as she is. Nora’s done it before. Her husband seems nonplussed. But this time, things feel different. It’s a twin thing; Casey knows it in her bones. Something is terribly wrong.
Casey hires private investigator Hank Mercer, and Hank discovers that Nora’s been on the dark web—lured by an entity that calls itself Switzerland, promising to take away your pain and leave you in a state of eternal bliss, for a hefty fee. The trail leads to a luxury wellness retreat hidden in the Mexican jungle. Determined to find her sister before it’s too late, Casey poses as a resort guest and heads to Mexico to rescue her sister. As Casey digs deeper, she finds something far more sinister than she could have imagined, and it’s possible that neither of them will get out alive.

Thank you to the Author, NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC of The Good Sister.
A quick thriller read that can be read in one sitting, which I loved.
From page one I was absolutely hooked! Each twist of the plot had me reaching for "just one more chapter" and wondering who was in on it, who was playing mind games and "whodunit". I couldn't put it down until I was finished the whole book. It was full of twists and turns that had me guessing right until the very last chapter.
The pacing and dual character narrations was perfect for me. This is my first book by this author and will definitely not be the last.
Thank you again for the opportunity to read this book ahead of its release in exchange for an honest review. I’m rating it 5 stars.

A beautiful intriguing read. I loved Nora! She was so flawed and interesting. I loved reading her diary entries and seeing how she came to terms with her destructive behaviour. Casey was an amazing sister! A beautiful bond between the two of them. The story was very interesting and I couldn’t stop reading. The characters were perfection and the plot was flawless
What a thriller. Seriously. Mirror twins who could sense and feel each other's pain and emotions. Just imagine where that could take you.
Of course, their personalities and chemical imbalances are not twinned.
Nora has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. and is a troublesome soul. Casey tries to fix Noras problems and is a paramedic as well. Somehow Nora manages a somewhat stable marriage to Ty, but all is not what it seems. When Nora runs away, disappearing into the Mexican Riveriera, Casey follows her.
The book is full of plot twists. It was definitely one of those that's hard to put down. However, it got a little convoluted at times as the storyline bounced back and forth between Nora's memories of her past and Casey's memories of Nora's past from her perspective. The font changes for those memories weren't enough to help understand what I was reading sometimes.
All in all, a really good book. The thing about thrillers, they take you through twisting, scary tales. The bad part? The endings aren't what we want them to be.

The Good Sister by Bonnie Traymore is a suspenseful psychological thriller that I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed the slow unraveling of secrets throughout the story. This story was a solid thriller with plenty of suspense, and I would recommend it to fans of psychological thrillers.

Such a thrilling read. I had no idea what was happening or who was doing it. With each plot twist I felt bombarded. It's a physcological thriller that had my mind working hard.
Thank you #NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC read of this book in return for my honest opinion and review.
From the moment I turned the first page, this **fast-paced mystery thriller** gripped me and refused to let go. It’s the kind of book you devour, with a relentless tension that had me racing through each chapter to uncover the truth.
Twins who can feel the thoughts and pain of one another.
The story centers on a chilling scenario: a gathering at a secluded **death retreat**, where the complex relationship between two **mirror twin sisters** is already fraught. The author masterfully explores the intricate, often turbulent bond between the twins. The stakes are impossibly high, and the question of whether a sinister plot will culminate in tragedy looms large over every twist and turn.
This novel is a compelling, high-stakes ride through deceit and psychological drama. I cannot recommend this book highly enough for fans of intricate, character-driven thrillers.
“The Good Sister” by Bonnie Traymore is a dark, gripping thriller that completely consumed me. The story follows mirror twins Casey and Nora, whose bond runs deeper than most can understand. When Nora goes missing, Casey knows in her gut that something is terribly wrong. Refusing to sit back and wait, she sets out to uncover the truth.
This story is intense from start to finish. The emotional connection between the sisters adds depth, and the darkness throughout the plot keeps the tension high. I couldn’t put it down.
The twists left me genuinely shocked, and the ending stayed with me long after I finished. It’s one of those books I wish I could erase from my memory just to read it again for the first time. Dark, unsettling, and completely addictive.

The Good Sister is a sleek, unsettling psychological thriller that leans into the eerie intimacy of twinhood and the lengths we go to for the people we can’t stop loving, even when everything between us has fractured. Casey and Nora are mirror twins in every sense — alike, opposite, and forever bound — and that connection hums beneath every page. When Nora disappears after a fight with her husband, Casey feels the wrongness of it in her bones, and that instinct becomes the novel’s driving pulse.
What begins as a missing‑person search quickly spirals into something darker when Casey learns Nora has been drawn into the shadowy promises of an online entity called Switzerland — a place that claims it can erase pain and deliver bliss, for a price. The trail leads Casey deep into the Mexican jungle, to a luxury wellness retreat that feels serene on the surface but thrums with menace underneath. The tension builds beautifully as Casey goes undercover, peeling back layers of charm and control to uncover what really happens behind those polished doors.
The heart of the story lies in the sisters themselves — their shared history, their guilt, their fierce, complicated loyalty. Casey’s determination to save Nora, even when the truth becomes more frightening than she imagined, gives the novel its emotional weight. And as the danger closes in, the question becomes not just whether she can rescue her sister, but whether either of them will make it out alive.
A gripping, atmospheric thriller with a sharp emotional edge, perfect for readers who love stories about family bonds pushed to their breaking point.
My thanks to Bonnie Traymore, the publisher and netgalley for the ARC
I very much liked the concept of the good sister and how they mirrored each other. The twist where twisting and I loved it. The ending could have used a little work but wasn’t bad I just wish it would have wrapped things up to my liking but other than that would definitely recommend!

after her last book i was more than ready from another from Bonnie. and already i knew, i had that readers gut feeling that this was one was going to hit even deeper than the last. and i was right.
there was so much more at the emotional core of this one simply by it being about these twins. and straight away as we were find out more of what was happening, what could be happening felt like it was creeping up with more and more chills. there is that element of twins and that 'thing' only they have which only added more to the feeling of the read too. there is of course also that going after someone or something no matter whats gone on between you, when you still love them with every fibre of your being. it brings a whole knew force and strength behind the story.
so when Nora disappears after a fight with her husband Casey knows she has to find her. she has it, that sense in her that something is off here. and she will stop at nothing to go and find her sister. and this is where it goes all the more unsettling. what she is about to get into, find out, might be darker and more dangerous than even she had the inkling for at the start.
for there is something darker here. and that is this entity that seems to be promising people a answer to their pain and take them to a place of bliss...for a price. this leads Casey to it, to a wellness retreat deep in the jungle(as soon as you say that i know we have something dark going on. my hackles are up). like all these wellness things there is the luxury and surface. but like all(some of course worse than other like here) there is far more sinister goings on underneath.
and so Casey goes further. she knows she has to, we know she will. and so she goes undercover to find out whats really going on. she wont stop until she finds out what beneath the shiny surface.
there is so much that is complex to these characters. the power in their love makes their love hurt and heal in equal measure. there is a power there, something so strong it cant be seen but it can be felt. and you feel it when reading their story here. it adds so much weight to what is going on for Casey too, and made me all the more invested my end too.
there is so many brilliant layers to this book. we have the sisters then we have the plot and whats going on with the other parts to the book. and it all weaves around each other like a well thought out and tight plot only these fab authors can do.
i was right there in every moment. wanting to turn pages faster than i could read but also a little scared. almost like turning the page was like turning the corner down a dark corridor. i was afraid of what i might find and sometimes who or what might make me jump!!
i was willing Casey on. willing for them both to be ok.
this was a book that gripped me all the way. and that only tightened from the start and even that is was tight haha.
a brilliant book. just top tier brilliant kind of reading for me. i still feel excited and humming from it even now thinking about it again just to write my review.
3.5/5 Stars
This book had an interesting concept, with the whole dark web and the company called "Switzerland" who promised to take away Nora's pain and give her "eternal bliss". But the pacing was extremely off in major parts of this book. Sometimes it was fast, but most of the time it was slow and painful.
I will say that Casey and Nora were the perfect twins, both of them being the complete opposite of each other. The plot twist at the end was also excellent!

The Good Sister by Bonnie Traymore had a really interesting premise with mirror twins, a mysterious disappearance, and a creepy wellness retreat connected to the dark web. The idea was definitely intriguing and kept me curious enough to keep reading.
However, the pacing felt a bit uneven. Some parts were suspenseful, especially when the investigation into the retreat started, but other sections dragged or felt predictable. I also had a hard time fully connecting with the characters, which made the stakes feel a little lower than they probably should have.
In the end, it’s a decent thriller with a unique concept, but it didn’t quite deliver the level of tension or twists I was hoping for. Still worth a read if you enjoy quick psychological suspense.

This book started quite slowly for me however I am glad I carried on reading. It picked up around 30% through and then I was hooked. I'd definitely explore this author more.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a quick and very easy read at just under 300 pages. The pacing is fast and it keeps you invested from the beginning, making it a great choice if you're looking for an entertaining thriller you can get through in a couple of sittings.
The story follows twin sisters, Casey and Nora, who are known as “mirror twins” because their features perfectly mirror one another. When Nora (the technically younger twin) goes missing, it’s initially assumed that she may have taken her own life. Nora has struggled with depression in the past, and Casey notes that she has gone through dark periods before.
But something doesn’t feel right.
After digging a little deeper and feeling that famous sense of “twin telepathy,” Casey becomes convinced that all isn’t what it seems and that Nora may actually be in serious trouble. What follows is Casey’s desperate attempt to find and save her sister, leading to a series of twists, turns, and revelations that keep the story moving quickly.
The plot is packed with developments, and the constant shifts in suspicion make it an engaging ride. I genuinely didn’t expect the ending, it surprised me enough that I actually audibly gasped.
Overall, this was a fun and entertaining thriller that’s perfect if you’re looking for a fast-paced, twisty read that doesn’t require a huge time commitment. Definitely one I’d recommend if you want something gripping but quick to get through.

So this is my second book I've read of Bonnie Traymore. To start, it did take me a minute to really get into the story, I'm not sure why. But about 1/3 of the way in all the twists, and unexpected moments kept me reading. I enjoyed the shorter chapters and being able to experience the story from multiple points of view. While it was definitely a thriller, the overall theme of the book lead to much deeper thoughts about mental health, end of life and family.
Great read, sad, happy, nerve-wracking everything I enjoy in a book. And I really like how it kinda finished the story at the end, didn't leave me with a million questions.

This book was an enjoyable psychological thriller filled with mystery and suspense which kept the reader interested. A sound storyline as well as good character development added to the enjoyment of the book. I would recommend this book to all readers who enjoy a good psychological drama.
This one took me a little while to fully understand what was going on, and I’ll admit I was quite confused at the start. The setting and situation felt quite strange and I wasn’t entirely sure where the story was heading or what was actually happening to Nora. But I’m really glad I stuck with it, because once things started to unravel and the bigger picture became clearer, it turned into a really gripping and quite shocking read.
The concept itself is really thought-provoking and quite unsettling in places, and it definitely makes you think about how vulnerable people can be when they’re struggling and looking for help. The tension builds as Casey gets closer to the truth, and by the end I was completely hooked. The twist genuinely caught me off guard and made the whole story come together in a really clever way.
Overall, this was a slow burn to start with but turned into a really tense, thought-provoking thriller with a twist I didn’t see coming.

Nora and Casey are twin sisters so when Nora disappears Casey knows something is wrong. Casey hires a P.I.. And tries to find her, but there’s a lot more at play than what she bargained for. Just when you thought you knew what was happening a twist would come and change what you thought.
The ending was sooo unexpected!!! I love Bonnie Traymore’s book and this one was so good.
Mirror twins Casey and Nora have a complicated past. Casey, the good sister, always seems to be taking care of soft struggling Nora. When Nora goes missing, Casey will stop at nothing to find her. Add in a suicide retreat, sisters who can feel eachother‘s emotions, and a private investigator and you’ve got all the ingredients for a twisty psychological thriller

If you’re after a fast-paced thriller this is it, I read it in a day 🙈
This isn’t your typical whodunit, it’s more of a what on earth is happening kind of thriller. The story follows twin sisters, and one is lured to an illegal place that offers assisted dying via the dark web. Her sister then sets out to find her and bring her home.
It’s such an easy read with a quick pace and a straightforward plot that keeps you hooked. The characters are likeable enough, and there are a few smaller twists sprinkled throughout to keep things interesting with 1 that caught me off guard at the end.
A perfect suspense thriller from Bonnie Traymore. I absolutely loved the plot its expertly written. Highly recommended.
