Description

Friends can totally fake date for a reality show…right?

Sweet and good-natured Becca has bailed out her toxic sister for the last time. Now, she’s itching to start over in her dream city and expand her teashop. The only problem? Her bank account is virtually empty.

Grumpy professional baker Noah has never lived up to his family's old-fashioned standards. Going on Canada’s most popular reality show might be the opportunity he needs to finally prove his worth.

There’s just one snag: the show is for couples only. His giant crush on Becca makes the decision to fake a relationship with her the obvious choice, and the prize money is too tempting for Becca to pass up. They’re a perfect match.

As the challenges heat up, so does their relationship, leaving both to wonder if they’re really faking it or if their sizzling on-camera chemistry has real-life potential.

Are they destined to win the competition and each other’s hearts? Or will their lie be exposed on national television and threaten the very fabric of their friendship?

This is a friends-to-lovers, fake dating, slow burn romance that is set in Canada. It contains explicit sexual content.

I devoured this absolutely delicious book in one sitting, and for very good reason. I have always been a sucker for a fake dating trope, but this one takes the cake, pun intended. Becca and Noah’s chemistry is apparent from the beginning, and getting to see both sides of this budding romance was a total plus.

I love the couples baking show plot, such a good way to keep them in close proximity, and have all the cute fluffy moments leading up to the more spicy side of this adult romance. I love that Noah had been pining for so long, his desire for Becca being hidden behind such an innocent ask- to help him win this baking show, and split the prize money. I especially love that he wanted to follow her lead, never doing anything she might be uncomfortable with. A true grumpy gentleman.

Becca’s sunshiney kindness really balanced out the fake couple during their competition time, being the one to do most of the socializing. Her love of pink, passion for tea, and her kind and caring heart shine throughout the whole book. No wonder Noah is so helplessly head over heels for her!

The pacing felt perfect to me, not too last minute slow-burn and not too love-from-the-start. We get our spicy scenes exactly where they need to be, and boy did Luna Day treat us with those scenes. I found myself giggling and giving my roomies a play by play, and each scene I relayed earned their fair share of “oooooh”s.

Everything in this story resolved perfectly, the background characters had their own depth, and the representation was also just right. My first five star read this year. Gods know I can’t wait to have this book physically in my hands this May!

I think this is my new favorite book. I am absolutely in love with everything about it. It had the perfect amount of fluff, drama, spice, everything was just *chef's kiss*. I already want to reread it, it's that good. The writing was excellent, the pacing was fantastic, the plot was intriguing and so immersive I could not put this book down if I tried. The characters were so well done, the villains were on point, and the the side characters weren't just half baked and thrown in, they all had a purpose and it was refreshing to see that. I highly recommend this one, it's so, so good and definitely a new favorite for me.

Lately I’ve been reading almost nothing but fantasy — magic, high stakes, dramatic twists — so this romance felt incredibly good to pick up. Bake it with Love by Luna Day was exactly the kind of story my heart needed.

It’s a fake dating romance set around a reality baking competition, which already gives it such a fun and cozy vibe. The setup is entertaining, but what really makes the book shine is how natural everything feels. Noah’s long-held feelings and the situation that pushes them into pretending create just the right amount of tension without ever feeling forced.

Becca and Noah are simply great together. Their dynamic is sweet, believable, and so easy to root for. I couldn’t stop smiling at some of their moments, and I absolutely flew through this book. The way their relationship develops feels organic and genuine, which made it even more enjoyable to read.

The atmosphere is honestly perfect — warm, charming, and comforting without being over the top. It gave me the warmest feeling while reading, and I loved every minute of it.

They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but in this case, if you love the cover, you’ll almost certainly love what’s inside too. The story matches that cozy, inviting vibe beautifully.

This book definitely brought back my excitement for the romance genre.

A huge five stars from me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

25 stars no notes!!!

If you love the Great British Bake-off, romance, friends to lovers and faking dating, you need to run and grab this book immediately! When I tell you I ate this up, I mean it! This was simultaneously cozy and sweet, and absolutely filthy and spicy. I had the absolute best time reading this book. Becca, sweet angel that she is, runs a tea shop, is being bled dry by her addict sister, has a heart of gold and wants nothing more than to fulfill her dream of opening a second location in the big city, Calgary. Enter our grumpy sweetie, Noah who is a phenomenal baker, a great day and somehow the black sheep of his family because they look down on his decision to become a pastry chef. Noah’s hare-brained scheme to make his family see his worth lands them on Canada’s hottest baking reality show, Bake It With Love where all the contestants are in relationships. This was sweet, funny, cozy, complex and spicy as hell. The author managed to deal with complicated family dynamics and addiction with a grace that didn’t diminish how difficult and painful dealing with those things can be. The spice was absolutely fantastic and I loved watching Becca find her voice and become more confident. Noah is definitely one of my favorite book boyfriends, I love a man who can bake, who has a heart of gold and a filthy mouth. He is the definition of down bad and I love that. I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone who will listen and I can absolutely see myself reading this story again and again. I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite books of 2026.
