'An emotional lightning-strike of a book . . . utterly unputdownable' - RACHEL LYNN SOLOMON, New York Times bestselling author

'Witty, spectacularly charming and bursting with heart' - PEYTON CORINNE, author of Unsteady

When lightning strikes, things are bound to get steamy . . .

Nothing can rain on Quincy Monroe’s parade. She’s a woman in STEM with a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences, the host of a successful online weather show, and has one million followers on her meteorology Instagram.

Quincy has spent endless hours forging her path in this male-dominated field, becoming one of the best in the industry. And with a new job opportunity, nothing can derail her success. Except for the ill-timed arrival of Sebastian Dunn.

Sebastian is her best friend’s brother, her long-suffering academic and professional rival, and a flashy TV weatherman from New York City that everyone swoons over. Everyone but Quincy.

Over a scorching Florida summer and record-breaking hurricane season, Sebastian and Quincy are forced into close proximity. Setting aside their grudges to chase storms and stay alive is one thing, but can they weather the inevitable collision of their hearts?

From bestselling indie author Chelsea Curto comes an academic rivals-to-lovers romance about storm-chasing meteorologists during hurricane season – perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood and B.K. Borison.

THIS BOOK IS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. There's the review.

No, but really. I have read Chelsea Curto's Love Through a Lens series and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have her DC Stars hockey series downloaded and ready to read, high on my TBR. But when I heard she was writing a book about rival meteorologists, I ate up every update and essentially stalked her social media. This is probably my most highly anticipated release of 2026 and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!

I have a special connection with this book and with weather in general. I was obsessed with weather as a little girl and spent hours upon hours at the library reading everything I could get my hands on about severe weather and natural disasters. I can recite the entire Twister movie by heart. My favorite channel growing up was The Weather Channel. My dream was to be a meteorologist. But going into that field wasn't in the cards for me. But it still gets me excited and invested.

This book is such a perfect blend of romance and weather. You can FEEL the passion that Quincy has with weather. It's part of her DNA. She is such a badass but still has to fight the patriarchy to make a name for herself in the field. She may be pegged as just an "influencer" but she is brilliant. She has a rivalry with her best friend's brother Sebastian, a fellow meteorologist who has a big time job in New York working for ABC.

The banter in this is GOD TIER. You can feel their chemistry come off the page. While they may live to annoy each other, there is mutual care and respect there. Sebastian is so supportive of Quincy and her biggest cheerleader, especially when it comes to other people trying to talk down to her or make her feel like she isn't worthy. This may be a slow burn but once they give in to each other, they are FIRE!

I enjoyed each and every word of this book. I couldn't put it down. The characters were so rich and vibrant. I adored both Quincy and Sebastian, I wanted the best for BOTH of them. The weather chasing was soooooo fun to read and I was nerding out the entire time. If you love character driven romance with a hefty side of weather nerds, this is the book for you. This is Chelsea's trad debut and it is such a BANGER! I know this will do incredibly well and I can't wait to see more of her trad journey.

I will endlessly recommend this to everyone I know, so much that I will be even more annoying than I already am. This has made me a lifelong Chelsea Curto stan and I can't wait to devour every book she writes. Infinity stars, no notes. This is romance perfection and I love it.

How do I even begin!!
This book was everything Chelsea is one of my favourite authors and this had topped any of her other books!
First of the research she must have done for all the “technical terms” 👏👏

Now my babies Quincy and Sebastian 🥹
They are it all the tension from the beginning the “hatred” was always so electric and flirtatious honestly melt me!!
Watching it all unfold was amazing I was kicking my feet like a little kid most of the way through this book! He is such a fool for her in the cutest possible way!! You could just tell he idolised her and everything about her !!
Watching them storm chase and just do normal things ugh I wish it wasn’t done I want to watch every aspect of it all unfold again!!

Thanks so much to NetGalley, Panmcmillan and Chelsea for giving me the opportunity to read this as an ARC

In Chelsea Curto I trust blindly. And so, even if I personally think that obsessing about hurricanes and storms is another weird American hobby, I still had to read this book. But if you don’t have universal healthcare, you really should be avoiding danger not running towards it. And yet, I went in with faith and Chelsea made it a really interesting setting for her story (still don’t get it, but go Quincy and Sebastian have fun at it)

Chelsea always writes strong successful women and men that know how to appreciate this, and it’s one of my favorite things about her books. Quincy is smart and driven, she takes no shit from people and certainly not Sebastian, and he just loves it. She still slowly allows herself to be softer with him and Sebastian jumps at every opportunity to protect her. Also he doesn’t just know she’s smarter, he admits it, admires it and this is one of the things he loves about her (and that is so hot). He also tries to rile her up all the time because he just loves her being annoyed at him, and it’s so funny.

This is one of those books that has you smiling all the way through, and arriving at the epilogue after 400 pages and think « already? » because you were having so much fun you didn’t realise the end was near. And so I will continue to trust Chelsea Curto and read every book she writes because she always delivers.

Quincy "badass woman in STEM" Monroe and Sebastian "begs and whimpers" Dunn. Honestly, that alone should be enough to make you want to read this, but add in some fun education about weather, a great collection of side characters, a heaping handful of banter, and a liberal sprinkling of spice, literally what more could you want. Especially because this was written by Queen Chelsea who has never written a bad book in her life.
I'm hoping this will be a series because I can see a Cooper and Mia book in the future 🤞🏻

Thank you so much for NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for providing me with this arc

Honestly can’t find a single fault with this book

This was my first Chelsea Curto book (I have the face off series but haven’t read this yet! Will defo be reading it asap!!)

The banter was impeccable! Even before anything romantic happened between them, they always had fantastic banter and loved to irritate and disagree with each other.

I don’t know anything about the weather and there were a lot of weather terms being used but it never took me out of the story, was just along for the ride!!

I was kicking my feet giggling during this book and actually wish it was longer! I could read so much more with this couple and their friend group - really hoping it will be a series!

This was such a quick but amazing read - cannot wait to go and binge all of Chelsea’s other books now!

⛈️ 🌪️ In stormy weather - Chelsea Curto 🌪️ ⛈️

Truth or dare, Quinny baby?

This book had me kicking my feet the entire time, I loved it so much an easy 5 star read for me!
This was also my first weather inspired book and as a girl who LOVES twister (original and new) I loved this.

We’ve got one of Quincy’s best friend’s- Mia her brother Sebastian is back in town for the summer. We got a love hate relationship because Seb is obsessed and Quincy thinks they hate each other 🙈 it’s always been arguing and competitions between them especially both being weather nerds and Meteorologists but to Sebastian that’s all been foreplay and flirting!

The chemistry was 🔥 the banter was unmatched and watching their relationship develop over the hurricane season into something else was *great*. Rivals to lovers and an MMC who falls first and is down bad what more could you want!?

Quincy Monroe - A female meteorologist (and one of the best) I like
How we touched on the subject of men thinking she’s not qualified enough (even when more qualified than the men) and the struggles she faces in a more male dominated field. Quinny is a badass and we love her 💪🏼
Thank you PanMac, Chelsea and NetGalley!

I don’t even know how to start this review. Some books just change your brain chemistry, and this was one of them. Chelsea Curto, you have my heart. Chelsea has been an author I’ve been wanting to read for YEARS, but hadn’t picked up yet. When I saw she had a book releasing about two rival meteorologists storm chasing, I just knew this had to be the first one I picked up.

Quincy and Sebastian are a true (meteorological) rivals to lovers trope. Their mutual love for the weather and storm chasing is what pushes them together. This book is full of banter and unresolved tension that will have any reader on the edge of their seat. The way Sebastian was Quincy’s biggest fan when other men were trying to bring her down, we need more men like him! I hate that I can relate to Quincy’s struggles in that work environment, but unfortunately that is still the reality in many male-dominated fields.

Also, hats off to Chelsea for the way she wrote about the devastation that happens after a storm like that runs through a community. I visited South Florida two months after Hurricane Irma in 2017 and the destruction was horrible. As someone who lives in a place where hurricanes and tornadoes are practically nonexistent that really left an impact.

Read this if you love:
* best friend’s brother
* only one bathtub
* woman in STEM
* rival meteorologists
* he’s obsessed
* storm chasing
* forced proximity
* just once to get it out of their systems
* banter as foreplay

The book releases July 14th (US) and 16th (UK) and I would highly recommend picking up a copy!

Thank you to the publisher for the digital ARC. All opinions are my own.

Summary

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5/5

Spicy rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3/5

This book felt like standing in the rain and realising you don’t actually want to run from it… you want to feel it 🥺

I’ve loved all of Chelsea’s books so far and this was no exception. In Stormy Weather completely pulled me under with its quiet intensity and emotional depth. Chelsea Curto writes in a way that feels so soft yet so powerful, like every word carries weight. This isn’t a loud, dramatic romance… it’s something more tender, more introspective and I loved it so much for that. A gorgeous medium-slow burn, rivals to lovers, women in STEM romance that has left me swooning for DAYS!

The characters felt incredibly real—messy, guarded, and trying to navigate their own storms while slowly letting someone else in. The vulnerability in this story wrecked me in the best way. Watching their walls come down piece by piece felt so intimate and earned.

And the atmosphere?? IMMACULATE. The stormy, almost melancholic vibe runs through the entire book and makes everything feel more emotional, more raw, more real and that storm chasing scenes gave such drama and intensity and really kept my little bleeding heart on its toes.

If there’s something I will always adore about Chelsea’s books is the way she writes a STRONG FMC who’s always breaking down walls and smashing glass ceilings in a male dominated field. And Quinny baby was on the top of her game! It was super clear how much research and time was spent actually exploring meteorology for the book and it was all explained in a super palatable way.

And anyone who has read a Chelsea book knows that she writes men who are absolute simps for their women. And the can whimper and make it the hottest thing you’ve read! I love Sebastian with my whole heart even with his panty stealing, ketchup hoarding ways. In fact especially because of those.

If you loved books like The Love Hypothesis and And Now, Back to You but want a little more action and drama (think Twister 🌪️ vibes) then I promise you’ll want this on on your TBR!

I need more from this series like immediately and I have my theories on what pairing could come next 👀

For readers who love:
❤️ Rivals to lovers
🌪️ Twisters (except that they didn’t kiss)
👩‍🔬 Women in STEM
💕 Frenemies with benefits

Two rival meteorologists in the midst of reevaluating their careers - and competing for the same job - return to their hometown. Naturally, disaster strikes, and the two of them begin to collaborate.

I ATE THIS UP. I wanted to read this partly because I felt like I was done dirty in the romance department when I saw Twisters, but also because I have read and loved the D.C. Stars series. I knew Chelsea Curto would not disappoint me!

I LOVED Quincy and Sebastian. Their chemistry and banter was so much fun - think the sexual tension and bickering of Anyone But You. Sebastian is a super flirt, but secretly the kind of guy who is DOWN BAD. It’s the sort of romance books where you literally get butterflies for them!

If you want an idea of pacing, you’ll start to see payoff from all that sexual tension about halfway through the book. Personally, I found that to be perfect, and I loved the spice when we got there. There’s enough spice that it’s HOT but it doesn’t take over the plot - very much in line with the amount you get in the D.C. Stars books.

Absolutely loved, and would read again. I’d also read about some of our supporting characters if Chelsea wanted to write about them!

Thank you so much to Pan MacMillan for providing an advanced digital copy of this book via NetGalley.

This has to be one of the best books of 2026, if not the 2020s in general.

I am serious here. Chelsea Curto makes writing seem as easy as breathing. Every love story that she writes (and trust me, I have read all of them) seems to be so organic and real - and so do Quincy and Sebastian, even when peppered through with scientific terms I don't understand.

Rival meteorologists Quincy and Sebastian have been at each other's throats since high school - Quincy at odds with Sebastian's platform as a weather anchor, his charm and fame, whereas Sebastian simply wants her attention. Over the course of one hot, hurricane-laden summer, storms are chased, Instagram lives are hijacked and feelings are slowly found.

This is one to read if you love swoonworthy banter, it's always been you tropes, and two nerds slowly starting to acknowledge that they have feelings for one another. It's just glorious and I will always be a fan of this pair. Plus, if you're a fan of Chelsea's books, definitely keep an eye out for the easter eggs sprinkled throughout. There's a cast of wonderful side characters as well, and I can't wait to see what Chelsea has in store for them, and us, next.

I bloody love Chelsea Curto, every single time. We were raised on the film Twister in our house so Storm chasing and tornadoes is a particular love of mine in stories (and real life) so this was a match made in pure heaven for me.

I loved their nerdy rivalry and the pranks since childhood. Both Quinn and Sebastian were great MCs. Sebastian was charming and charismatic but deeply caring and searching for meaning in a career that he knew others would kill to have. While Quinn was super intelligent and hard working in a male-dominared field, constantly trying to prove herself despite her credentials and obvious expertise. It was nice to see their rivalry become love and supportive team work in a natural way while they chased storms and predicted weather together.

I was intrigued to see how their battle for the job played out and how that woukd impact both their careers and budding romance. Mostly, I just enjoyed living in their world for a bit because it was fun, heartfelt and sprinkled with danger.

THANK YOU TO CHELSEA AND NETGALLEY FOR THE ARC!

what can i say… chelsea outdone herself yet again.
i swear to god, i didn’t expect to love this book as much as i did. i wasn’t sure what i expected when i dived into it knowing its a book about two meteorologists. i know absolutely nothing or even less about weather (and i know i should know a hell of a lot more about rain considering where i live!) and i thought the professional lingo will put me off but… i was so pleasantly surprised.

the story was so fresh and lighthearted, hopeful and sweet. totally perfect chelsea curto style with fiesty fmc and obsessed mmc.

i loved both of the characters so much, i was giggling and kicking my feet from page one right up to the last page and then i reread the epilogue purely for my own torture because its so wholesome i could cry!

the plot was light but also dove into the more meaningful details without it being to heavy!
i loved the brief mention about mavvy. 🥰
i loved the ketchup.
but most of all i loved the little ducks and i’ll never look at the sunset the same way again.

my favourite quote:
“if someone asked me to describe you, i’d call you an endless sunset”
crying.

cannot wait for everyone to read it.
yet again, another book of chelsea that i’ll recommend!

I AM OBSESSED! Totally unwell after finishing In Stormy Weather or did it finish me?

This book had me laughing, crying ugly tears and wanting to throw my Kindle at the wall all at the same time.

The yearning and longing between Quincy and Sebastian is top tier and the way he falls first is chefs kiss! The way the layers peel away to slowly reveal more and more is simply stunning 😍

If you enjoy rivals to lovers, outstanding banter and storm chasing you’ll love In Stormy Weather.

I genuinely CANNOT put into words how much I absolutely adored this book.

As soon as I finished this book, I rang my bestie straight away for a debrief and I was nearly crying. I honestly just loved it so freaking much. The vibes in this were exceptional. I never wanted it to end.

This book was jam packed with fun, flirty banter, the biggest green flag, god damn cutesy moments, characters I absolutely adored and a love that felt like it was written in the stars. The dislike to lovers trope in this book - omg I was kicking my feet screaming to my friends. The way Chelsea can write a pathetically obsessed man in UNMATCHED!!! SEBBY IS EVERYTHING.

There were so many moments that made this book top tier for me - I would be here all day listing them. I won't because I think everyone deserves to experience this book for themselves first hand.

I will say at the start of the book I was slightly worried that Sebastian and Quincy were going to be a copy and paste of Maverick and Emmy from Face Off because there are some similarities, but that idea quickly evaporated as the story progressed.

This book was so captivating - I was hooked. For anyone in their 30's I think this book will land so well for you. It gave me such a nostalgic feel with the references to the original twister movie and the old blockbuster days - if you know you know. Elite Friday nights going off to blockbuster.

Also 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 to Chelsea for the amount of knowledge she packed into this book for the hurricane/tornadoes and the way she made it so freaking fun. It was jam packed with in depth knowledge - you just know she has 100% done her homework on this stuff.

And the easter egg clues for the DC STARS upcoming books .. HELLO! 🫡 Chelsea is feeding up. I just know there is another book for Mia coming. And I cannot freaking wait for that either.

Honestly top tier book. I can't wait for everyone to read this. Chelsea has smashed it once again.

This was absolutely stunning. I have been a long time Chelsea Curto fan and this was her at her best - gorgeous characters with such emotional depth, a romance with a man who YEARNS and an appreciation of women in STEM.

Quincy was such an excellent character- I really appreciated the way she worked with her friends and had both the knowledge and self confidence to back herself. The banter between Quincy and Sebastian was sublime and hilarious - it was so quick and witty you could feel it! The escalation into them falling in love was so beautifully paced and I adored the balance between the romance and the science. I always come away from a Chelsea Curto book with a higher appreciation of our scientists and how women juggle excellence with the patriarchy.

‘The summer girl and the golden weather boy teaming up for the year’s biggest storm’

I really enjoyed this one! I’ve only read a couple of novellas by this author before, so this was my first full length book and it was brilliant. It felt so original and whilst it took me a few chapters to get into, once I did I was hooked! I enjoyed the writing style and how the story moved along. I was also a bit sceptical about the romance initially but Sebastian soon won me over!

‘If you want to chase this storm, I’m going with you’

Quincy is such a great representation of women in STEM and I loved her character. She’s quirky, original and knows her stuff. There were some really fascinating, intense moments during some of her storm chasing and I suspect a lot of research went in to these scenes. A few chapters in particular had me on the edge of my seat.

Sebastian comes across as a pretty boy weather presenter but he’s so much more and I loved how he’d always harboured feelings for Quincy, and always been paying attention to her. He made her feel seen and heard which was so important.

A fantastic read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Also I’d love for some of the side characters to get stories (I’m looking at you Cooper and Mia!)

Huge thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.

We have a new president of the ‘pathetically down bad MMC’ committee and his name is Sebastian Dunn!

In Stormy Weather was one of my most anticipated 2026 book releases and it has exceeded all of my expectations (and my expectations was sky high).

This book is arguably Chelsea Curto’s best work! The banter between Quincy and Sebastian and their chemistry was instantaneous! Academic rivals to lovers will always be a favourite trope of mine but this was such a unique and fresh take on the trope following two high school turned professional meteorologist rivals!

One of my favourite things about Chelsea Curto’s work is how she writes such inspirational female characters and Quincy is no exception. She’s a headstrong, independent, hard working, intelligent woman in STEM and I aspire to have her drive and determination to succeed.

I also ADORED Sebastian. He had taken a spot on my favourite MMC list and can see him firmly staying there.

As someone who doesn’t know a huge amount about meteorology or storm chasing, I found this aspect of the book fascinating and the way that Curto explained everything made it really easy understand.

In Stormy Weather was an easy 5 star read and I’m praying we get books for the side characters in this book because I’d love to read their stories!

Chelsea Curto is such a talent. Each one of her books feels so expertly crafted, you fall in love with the characters and the side characters just as much. This book was the perfect blend between romance but also the really interesting points about being a meteorologist and what life is like for storm chasers. It was funny, romantic, tense and just such a fun time! She is definitely an auto-buy author for me and I will read anything she writes.

Another dreamy read from Chelsea! I've never looked so deeply into the weather and it's absolutely fascinating when you get into the science of it all - she truly did her research!! Quincy and Sebastian were a gorgeous pair to follow, I loved the slow burn and really rooted for them, to the point I was extremely stressed nearing the end, hoping they'd stay safe! I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

✨5 Star Read✨
📚Publication Date: 16th July 2026
📖Author: Chelsea Curto

I never saw myself ever being obsessed with weather and tornadoes but Chelsea knows how to pull us in with her incredible writing! This is a fantastic book with amazing characters that will have you giggling and swooning! I will definitely be buying a physical copy and rereading this book on the release date!💖

In Stormy Weather Delivers:
🌪️Best Friend's Brother
🌪️Only one Bathtub
🌪️Woman in STEM
🌪️Rival Meterologist
🌪️He’s Obsessed
🌪️Storm Chasing
🌪️Forced Proximity
🌪️Banter as Foreplay

The Characters:
☔ Quincy Monroe - I have so much love for Quincy! She's my favourite character in the whole book and has easily made my top five MFC’s. I loved everything about her - how incredibly smart she is and a badass on top of that! I really liked how she knew her own worth and was determined to be a good role model for women. Her personality and her love for her profession just shined throughout the book. It was so refreshing to have a FMC who loves her job and isn't scared to admit what others may perceive as “nerdy” is something that means so much to her and she doesn’t let anyone else define her. What an amazing woman and role model!! We need more FMC’s written like this!!!👏👏

☔ Sebastian Dunn - The second he entered the story I was obsessed! He is so effortlessly charming and I was so drawn to his character by his flirty banter. One of the many things I loved about Sebastian was how much he adored and supported Quincy throughout the book. The way he would speak up for Quincy and never belittled her or her skills as a woman in STEM was beautiful. I thought Sebastian was a great MMC and even though he puts on a facade for everyone around him, I loved how big his heart truly is. I particularly enjoyed his character development within the book and I really liked how he gradually found passion and meaning within his profession again. Also, the reason he picked this profession just melted my heart🥰

My Overall thoughts:
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I really liked how the rivalry between them transformed into a supportive team with so much love for each other and helping others through tornadoes. I really appreciated how Chelsea had the perfect balance of scientific knowledge and human elements when writing about what communities go through when a tornado strikes. I thought this was written with great love and sensitivity whilst describing the devastation many people endure in a tornado’s aftermath.
I would really love it if this universe became a series because I adored all of the side characters and I would love to know more about them all!

Overall, this book was a delight to read! If you love slow burn romances with sizzling chemistry, flirty banter and a MMC who is obsessed with his woman and will fight the patriarchy - then this book needs to be added to your TBR immediately!

Thank you to Pan Macmillan, Netgalley and author Chelsea Curto for sending me an eARC of In Stormy Weather in exchange for an honest review. I’m so honoured to have been chosen as an ARC reader for Chelsea’s new release🫶

What a ride!!!

One of my most anticipated releases of the year and it did not disappoint at all.
If anything you know when you pick up a Chelsea book your getting a bada** FMC who is strong, independent and is a power house in her industry 💪

Now I have watched the film Twister but thats about as high as my storm knowledge goes, but I really enjoyed learning all the terms, I did stop to Google a few things so I could picture it, but this just created more excitement for me!

Quincy was one of the most relatable, underestimated characters i have read. She is completely comfortable in her own skin and believes in herself but is aware that being a female in the industry is going to take twice as much work.

Sebastian... swoon worthy, we ride at dawn, I fell first Dunn!
I am OBSESSED with him. The way hes been obsessed with her for years, literally years!!!

The banter between these two was honestly the most i have laughed whilst reading, even when they came together it was just so entertaining.

“All’s fair in weather and war, Quinny baby.”

The romance aspect had me holding my breath of will they, wont they, and I am going to SCREAM about the confidence that woman has in the bedroom department. Pure and utter perfection and no rushing! We love a man that begs 🙌

I had the best time reading In Stormy Weather and i honestly have no negatives at all, the romance was perfect, the spice was perfect, the storm chasing was perfect.

"Maybe he’s right. Maybe the two of us are inevitable, our souls tied together moons ago. Fate waiting, until the moment was right."

Two meteorologists who have always competed with each other falling in love is such a gorgeous read and I would read 10,000 more of these. Also the way Sebastian worships Quincy - swooooooooon

Chelsea is wonderful at world building and I would love to read more about their friend group too.

Would recommend this book and all of Chelsea’s back catalogue too.

This was the first book I have read by Chelsea Curto and I was obsessed! I’m a massive weather nerd and growing up I loved the movie Twister, so when I saw this was a weather romance I was immediately sold. I loved the characters in this one, the banter between the FMC and MMC was elite and I enjoyed the side characters that made up their friend group. The weather component of this romance was so great and I just had the best time! I really didn’t want this book to end and I mean is it too early to say this could be my fav romance read of the year. I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy. Thank you Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for my ecopy to read and review.

Thank you for the advanced reader copy!

I absolutely loved this book. I had really high expectations after reading the DC Stars series and following the social media journey for in stormy weather and it didn’t disappoint!

Great building of the romance and you really route for Quincy and Sebastian and the hurricane/tornado watch keeps the scientist in my engaged!

I absolutely loved this. The whole concept felt so fresh—following meteorologists during hurricane season was so interesting, especially reading it from the UK where I’ve never experienced anything like that. It made everything feel intense and high stakes in the best way.

Quincy Monroe??? I adored her. She’s smart, driven, funny, and completely unapologetic about taking up space in a male-dominated field. The way she calls out misogyny and still allows herself to be vulnerable was so powerful to read.

And then… SEBASTIAN DUNN. I’m sorry but this man?? New favourite book boyfriend unlocked. He’s witty, charming, and so obviously gone for Quincy it hurts. Their banter?? elite. Their tension?? even better.

Chelsea Curto’s writing just keeps getting better. I genuinely don’t know how she keeps topping her previous books, but somehow she does—and this might be my favourite from her so far.

I had such a good time with this and now I’m already desperate for the next one.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, publisher, and Chelsea Curto for the eARC

First off, thank you so much to pan macmillan, book break and Chelsea for providing me with an e-arc of In Stormy Weather in exchange for an honest review. This was my most anticipated release of 2026 and I was honoured to receive a copy!

In Stormy Weather was everything I wanted and MORE, it was suspenseful, romantic, compelling and so sweet.

I have to commend chelsea for the sheer amount of work and research clearly gone into this story. You can tell just how much understanding of meteorology and the science behind storm chasing she has through her characters, plot and the setting of Oak Valley / Florida! It made the whole story even more exciting knowing how much passion went into the creation, and I became so immersed in the journey both Quincy and Sebastian went through.

Speaking of our two meteorologists, I absolutely adored them from page one! Their chemistry together was fantastic and I loved the back and forth banter between the two. The shared past between them, their intelligence and support to make one another better people throughout, made their romance even stronger, and I adored how mature they were together!

Quincy was such a wonderful main female character, and her tenacity, passion and strength to make a name for herself in a male dominated industry (a classic trope for chelsea that I adore), made me just fall in love with her. Sebastian was the perfect male main character to uplift her and show her exactly what a devoted, supportive partner can be - and I really appreciated how he gave her opportunity to shine without suffocating or taking away the attention from her. He was a man DOWN BAD and for that I just love him !!!

I adored every page of In Stormy Weather, and the glimpses from our side characters and subtle foreshadowing for future stories was so fun to catch! I also loved the small mention of my fave boy Maverick from the DC Stars!!! This was an absolute masterpiece from Chelsea, and I can’t wait to see what’s next in the Oak Valley series!

If you’re looking for a badass meteorologist and a man obsessed with everything she does, then I couldn’t recommend ISW enough! 🌪️💙

love, love, love, LOVE 🌪️

chelsea just never fails to write characters that you totally fall in love with and seb and quincy were no different!! as a STEM girly, I loved the science/meteorological aspects of in stormy weather and the banter sprinkled in was just top tier foreplay from the both.

I alao loved how prejudice in the workplace was addressed and how seb supported quinny baby, I’ve definitely got my fingers crossed for who I’m hoping are book 2’s couple but I’m not putting it out into the universe just yet 🥹⛈️

I’m just going to start with I lost count at how many highlights I made in this book - I don’t think there was a single page where I wasn’t having THE best time. I’m as down bad for this book as Sebastian Dunn is for Quincy, and that’s saying something.

Chelsea is an absolute QUEEN at creating a narrative that you can’t help but have fun in. The banter, the friendships, the love is written in a way that you can’t help but fall headfirst into every page.

The story itself is set around the meteorological world and how much it’s seen as a “boys club”, with Quincy trying to break through and gain the respect she rightfully deserves in her field. Quincy’s main goal in life is to break down barriers and show everyone that women belong in stem, and shouldn’t be overlooked. This is done through her being her unapologetic self and wiping the floor with her knowledge, and making said knowledge accessible through her Instagram page and daily live shows where she makes learning about meteorology fun as well as raising awareness about the climate, especially staying safe in hurricane season.

Enter Sebastian, the greenest of green flags and Quincy’s long time academic rival. I was obsessed with this man from literally the moment he entered the page. I loved the dual pov because you get to see how some actions Quincy perceives as obnoxious and riles her up is literally just him trying to get his girl to notice him and he has been DOWN BAD for literal years.

I had the best time reading this and it’s cemented Chelsea into an instabuy author for me. I could honestly write a whole essay on how much I loved this book and I genuinely think I might have done 😅. The little teaser at the end that this is going to be a series? Count me in. I’m sat for each and every book she blesses us with.

Quincy and Sebastian’s story delivers everything you’d want from a rival to lovers romance story especially with the added tension of him being her best friend’s brother which is a trope I love to read.

They are both meteorologists, who have been competing since their school days, always trying to outdo one another. When Sebastian returns to Florida burned out from work, their paths cross again, and they end up chasing storms together and capturing footage for her show and for his documentary series. The banter was excellent , with the dynamics changing as their relationship changes. I just love how you can see it coming and how much you want them to realise they are perfect for each other.

Overall, this is a compelling and immersive read that’s beautifully written. I loved it.

the DC stars being one of my all time favourite series, so when Chelsea Curto announced she had written another book, i simply knew i would fall in love. And fall in love i did.

Our two MCs are meteorologists, and have known eachother since school, always competing, academic rivals and Quincy our FMC is Seb’s sisters best friend. So they’ve been in eachothers orbit forever.
Quincy finds Seb utterly infuriating, he’s the weatherman for ABC in New York and lives to rial her up. Our MMC Seb however, is absolutely infatuated with Quincy who runs a social media page with over 1 million followers, called The Rainy Day Show, and finds their constant bickering almost a form of foreplay.

We follow them through storm chases, navigating career changes and working out over 10 years worth of complex “friendship”

The tension is palpable and as you all know Maverick Miller is the blueprint of book boyfriends and Sebastian Dunn is on parr with him. Acts of service king, he pays such close attention to her and is completely and utterly obsessed with her.
I had the absolute BEST time with this book, the plot is so interesting, filled with tension, it’s funny, another incredible Chelsea Found Family.

I highlighted SO much and to avoid spoilers here’s a few of my favs
~
“Get on your knees and find out.” “With pleasure, sweetheart,”
~
“and fuck if her excitement about the mundane things isn’t the most beautiful thing in the world.”
~
“But when it comes to you, pretty sure I’m just a pathetic mess of a man.”
~

In Stormy Weather is out 16th July ⛈️

Well… where do I even start with this one?! 😭💕
I knew within the first 50 pages I was going to love it, just like every other Chelsea Curto book I’ve read. But this one really had me 🥹
I was completely hooked. Any time I wasn’t reading about Sebastian and Quincy I genuinely missed them. Their chemistry, their connection, the banter… it was all SO good. I was smiling and squealing the whole time 😭💖
The energy between them was everything and their friendship made it even more special. It just made me feel so giddy the entire way through 🫶✨
And can we talk about this for a second?! A woman in STEM and a man who is completely obsessed with her?! I mean… what more could you want 😩💅

Exactly the type of book I'll go back to again and again. I adored this! The relationship between Quincy and Sebastian was full of rivalry, yearning and some of the best banter I've ever read. The use of social media comments to further Quincy's job/online presence and the disgusting misogyny not only in the weather world but online was so clever. The anger I felt at the way Quincy was treated/dismissed is all too familiar and Chelsea Curto represented it perfectly. Quincy is stunningly clever, witty and such a loveable FMC.

Sebastian was the ideal rival for Quincy, and his quiet yearning was swoonworthy. He stood up for her in a way that didn't put himself first, but put other men in their place and it was delicious. The way he adores her and celebrates her achievements made my heart happy.

"My nose bumps hers. I can count all the freckles on her face - fourteen. Fourteen maddening little marks."

The weather knowledge was also such an interesting aspect, I loved learning more about the systems, how they're tracked and the danger meteorologists - and those in the path face - was scary but refreshing. It was so tense in parts I had to stop myself skimming ahead!

Overall I really, really enjoyed this and definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys rivals to lovers, forced proximity and women in STEM!

"Truth or Dare, Quinny baby?"

Rivals to Lovers perfection. Quincy and Sebastian have been rivals in the field of meteorology for years. The banter between them was phenomenal, I was kicking my feet and smiling throughout the whole book.

What I loved most though is that throughout their bantering and competition with eachother, Sebastian never once put Quincy down; he still took every opportunity to tell everyone he came across how smart and amazing she is. That man was down bad and I was so here for it! I also really appreciated the focus on his burnout and sense of being stuck. I really loved his journey of discovering what makes him truly happy.

And like all of Chelsea's female characters, Quincy is such an empowering FMC. She is incredibly smart, driven, passionate, and I loved how she completely smashed every barrier that she came across whilst working in a very male dominated field.

The storm chasing scenes brought lots of tension, suspence and heightened emotions. The atmosphere that Chelsea created was incredible. The science was also written so well, it was easy to understand and I also learned so much about meteorology from these characters, it was fascinating! It is clear how much research went into this book and it definitely paid off!

This was the easiest book to binge read and I loved every second of it!

I loved this book!! It was so good from start to finish!!

I loved Quincys love of weather and how it shone throughout the book, even when she doubted herself or was cut down by idiotic men who don't think that women can be better than them, her passion shone though and I loved that

I loved how Sebastian has loved Quincy for years and the yearning you felt thoughout his pov was so good!! I highlighted so many lines from him, I'm so happy that he finally got the girl

I loved the drama that the weather brought to the book and the raised stakes that came with it was so good, such a good way to add tension and drama (& not coming from the typical miscommunication which often happens in romance books)

I can't wait to read more books in this series and I can't wait for Mia to break up with her fiancé cos we don't see much with their relationship but I'm not routing for them

Tropes/themes:
- women in STEM
- best friends brother
- MMC who's obsessed
- storm chasing
- forced proximity

Isn't is amazing how one day you just happen to stumble across an author; whether that be by an online influencer whose recommendations you trust, a browse in your local bookstore/ library or from that one specific friend who won't stop (nicely) bothering you into picking up their books... just to then see that author become an all-time favourite? I first discovered Chelsea Curto during the launch of her Love Through A Lens series in 2023 and I have had the absolute joy in getting to follow her on her publishing journey ever since. I squealed with excitement when In Stormy Weather was revealed as her trad debut and it was everything that I had hoped it would be from the moment the early premise was announced. This is a fun, empowering and feel-good romance that had me hooked from the very beginning with an unwillingness to put it down. I adored the entire cast of characters and feel (unsurprisingly) impressed in how fully developed all of the side characters feel within a short space of time. This is a story that wonderfully highlights the importance in recognising your value and learning how to advocate for yourself in every situation that is made to make you feel small. In accepting how to muster all of your bravery to make those scary choices no matter how intimidating they may be, for something better may just be waiting for you on the other side. The weather jargon was masterfully written to read with ease for anybody unfamiliar with the official terms, whilst still being entertaining and engaging enough for the reader to remain connected to the overarching story. In Stormy Weather is a must-read contemporary rom-com that delivers on equal parts searing romance, banter-filled dialogue and emotional storytelling that is bound to leave you yearning for more from the world. Plus... have you seen the book cover? That's preorder worthy material alone.

One of my absolute favourite aspects in any Chelsea Curto book is her continuous portrayal of strong and career-driven female characters whom set out to break down barriers and make space for more likeminded women in a male-dominated industry that would otherwise undermine them at every turn. Quincy ‘Quin’ Monroe is yet another perfect execution in this with her character showcasing the perfect balance of being both unwavering and soft. Ambitious and selfless. Independent and vulnerable. Quin’s intelligence and compassion for the innocent shone through the pages and I loved how every aspect to her personality felt crafted with intent and impact. Her passion for the weather felt compelling in the way that it drew me into her character and I loved getting to witness how beloved she was by her audience. Quincy’s love and loyalty for her friends was an additional highlight to be character, and I was thrilled to see her surrounded by a strong sense of community that encouraged and emboldened her during times of doubt. Her confidence within herself felt inspiring and I had the best time getting to see Quin continue to grow in assurance as she learned how to better advocate for herself. Her determination and willing to fight for what she knows she deserves felt inspiring, and overall I couldn’t be more satisfied with the conclusion to Quincy’s story.

If you’re in the market for your next ‘down bad’ MMC then let me introduce you to the one and only, Sebastian Dunn. This is a man who knows the value in patience whilst yearning in secret from afar. I loved Sebastian’s character from the very beginning and I really appreciated how his journey centralised around his experience with burnout. The acknowledgment of his privilege whilst being validated on his feelings by his peers felt refreshing to see and I was glad to see him slowly work towards figuring out what he needed to feel fulfilled in life. Sebastian is a green flag personified and I adored getting to witness a man who was unafraid to showcase his soft and emotional side. His communication skills are unrivalled and it’s made very clear from the beginning that he’s all-in for his woman which created many swoon-worthy moments. I mean… the man literally carries ketchup sachets in his pocket because it’s Quincy’s favourite condiment and he never wanted her to be in a situation where she was left without. I loved getting to witness Sebastian’s own passion for the weather and all of its phenomenons, especially after learning how his interest in the topic first ignited. Sebastian is just an all-around good man who wants to be happy and settled in life with the woman that he loves, and I couldn’t be happier with the progression of his story and the way it concludes.

The relationship progression between Sebastian and Quincy felt like a ton of fun to explore with their initial rivals-to-lovers dynamic introducing ample amounts of banter into their dialogue. I loved the push and pull element that showcased both characters thriving in challenging the other. Getting to see this implemented into an unexpected partnership felt effortlessly executed with their relationship slowly evolving into something more. The softness and vulnerability that Sebastian and Quin shared left me feeling emotional on multiple occasions and I adored getting to witness them both learn how to lean upon one another in times of strife. What begins as a lighthearted rivalry evolves into a strong foundation built on friendship and trust. The romance was slower to build which, in my opinion, enabled their relationship to strengthen and overcome any doubt that they may have faced when recognition of their feelings began to settle. I adored how they encouraged and supported one another in equal amounts without any need for competition or negative emotions by the end of the story. The fierce protectiveness that harbour for one another was amazing to see, and overall I was really happy to see that their romantic progression was built upon a steady friendship and clear communication. The spice was incredibly written and in the way these scenes were used with intent to soften both characters within an emotionally vulnerable situation. Sebastian and Quincy are one of my favourite couples by this author to date, and I really hope there’s potential for more books within this world where we can then see them thriving in their happiness on the side.

I went into In Stormy Weather with high expectations due to being a devout lover of all things by Curto and it’s safe to say that every single one was exceedingly met. I adored everything about Quincy and Sebastian’s story… and dare I say the end of the acknowledgements has me holding out hope (pleading) that there are more love stories waiting to be explored in Oak Valley? Perhaps about a hopeless romantic, bestselling author and the irresistible firefighter that happens to be her brother’s best friend? Who do I get into contact with to make this a sure thing? No matter what release will come next for this author, you can be sure to note me down in attendance.

Of course it's a 5 star book, it's Chelsea Curto - she never misses!

this was an absolute delight and I can't wait for everyone to meet and fall in love with Quincy and Sebastian like I did!

This book had me laughing, kicking my feet and keeping me on the edge of my seat. Chelsea always writes the perfect combo! And her love stories are always so hopelessly romantic with a perfect sprinkle of spice :)

There was never a dull moment. I'm such a slow reader but I flew through this book! I love the friendship group dynamic so much and can't wait to see their stories unfold separately. I'm hoping Mia and Cooper are next?

And the dynamic between the protagonists was just *chefs kiss*, their chemistry was off the charts and I ate up their banter. They were such fun protagonists and I'm so, so happy there was no third act break up!! They communicated so well and I love how their stories - both separate and together - developed.

also can we appreciate SEBASTIAN ugh we love a complete and total simp 🫶

I live in the UK so I know absolutely nothing about hurricanes and tornados, so I definitely learned something from this book! (I now know what a haboob is lol)

This is perfect for fans of the DC Stars fan. The story and characters had some similar tones which I loved, and the fact that they're interwoven a little warms my DC Stars-loving heart. I LOVED the little Maverick Miller Easter egg :)

So good!

chelsea curto genuinely never disappoints!!! the way i'm so in love with quincy and sebastian should probably be studied in some form because oh my WORD 🥹

this book tore at all of my heartstrings, and i loved watching the pair go from competitive rivals to lovers - chelsea wrote it so perfectly, and it felt so natural and real, which i find can be a difficult balance to get in books

there was tension, yearning (chelsea is the queen of male yearning) and so so many lovable characters, what more could you want from a romance? 💓

i also absolutely adored the whole friendship group, and i cannot wait to see how they evolve, more books plssss!!! 😌😌

plus it was so fun to learn more about the weather!! such a fun aspect to have in a romance books, and i'll be educating everyone on haboobs for years to come 🙂‍↕️

Academic rivals since Sebastian became obsessed with weather and Quincy being utterly weather focused for always. Seeing them go toe to toe but the respect Sebastian showed Quincy in the industry showing her she is worthy and her voice matters 😭 I adored these two I really hope we get to see more from other characters in this book as well. chasing storms and each others hearts what a book.

In Stormy Weather is perfect if you love enemies to maybe friends to lovers, laugh out loud banter, and heart melting moments.

Quincy Monroe is everything I want in an FMC. She is powerful, intelligent, funny, and deeply caring. I loved how she challenges gender norms in STEM and calls out misogyny while still allowing herself to be vulnerable. Watching her stand her ground and succeed made it impossible not to root for her.

Sebastian Dunn is an elite book boyfriend. He is witty, hilarious, and completely gone for Quincy. Even when he gets things wrong, he owns it, apologizes, and grows. He supports Quincy without ever undermining her and truly hypes her up in the way she deserves.

Their banter and chemistry are unmatched. The history between them adds so much tension, and I loved seeing what they really thought about each other. The secretive aspect of their relationship made it even more fun.

The STEM side was such a highlight. I loved learning about storm chasing, tornadoes, and meteorology, and it blended perfectly with the romance, friendship, and emotional depth.

Also I need more of the side characters immediately 👀

If you love STEM romcoms with humor, heart, and tension, add this to your TBR asap. ☂️🌪️🌩️

Thank you so, so much to Pan Macmillan for this ARC of In Stormy Weather, Chelsea is such a beloved author to me & I can't quite believe I was able to read this before release!

This was such a fun & refreshing premise to read about - two rival meteorologists with a past as academic rivals covering a storm filled summer in Florida. Quincy feels so reminiscent of the women in the DC stars universe, so hard working & talented but not dealt the same cards as her male counterparts, one of which being Sebastian.

Where she has had to put in hours of studying storm patterns, build an organic following on social media & fight hard for the rooms she makes it into: Sebastian seems on the surface to have been handed every opportunity as the golden weather boy. Though it isn't all that it seems for him, trying to figure out his path as he faces a pretty extreme burnout from his job in New York.

The natural banter & chemistry between these two characters is truly unmatched, Sebastian always made sure Quincy knew her worth & then some even when they would argue. It was always an equal playing field to him, always in her corner even if she grimaced at the sight of him there. Chelsea does such an incredible job showing us so much of the characters through both their successes & their vulnerabilities, as well as having (similar to the DC stars) such a tight knit & loving friend group.

This was also TENSE. Both in the sense of the chemistry between our two main characters & the storms they chased, it added stakes where / was trying to get through it as fast as I can to make sure they both made it out unscathed. I can only imagine the experience of writing something like storm chasing, and doing it so well that it felt like a movie playing out in front of me.

All in all, I really loved this book. I am so proud of Chelsea for this & hope it gets the flowers it so rightfully deserves. The mix of hope for the future of women in male dominated fields & there being men like Sebastian out there who would encourage them every step of the way truly got me good

With the way some things played out with that beloved friend group (IYKYK)., I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for us 👀

“All’s fair in weather and war, Quinny baby.”

Well, Chelsea Curto is officially one of my all-time favourite authors, and this book just proves I will read anything she writes. Tornadoes? Weather? Couldn’t care less about these things and yet I absolutely devoured this.

I loved that Sebastian fell first and fell hard. There were so many tropes in here that I adore, and they were done so well. Chelsea always captures the struggles of a woman navigating a male-dominated career so authentically, and Quincy’s story was no exception; so well written and easy to connect with.

Her storytelling just hooks me every single time. The tension, the pacing, the emotional pull, I’m always in from start to finish. And the banter? Elite. Quincy and Sebastian together were just so good. Their back-and-forth had me smiling the whole way through.

Also, that little DC Stars Easter egg… 👀 (iykyk)

And now I need to know- are we getting a little sister x brother’s best friend moment next?? Because I am ready.

Absolutely loved this.

Where to start? I loved this book. In stormy weather was perfect! My heart melted the more I read. I couldn’t put this one down. Quincy and Sebastian are rivals to lovers, both working in the meteorology area.

Quincy is a badass woman in STEM.
She is passionate about her work, and she starts to gain more confidence in herself throughout this book. To put herself out there more, go for what she wants in life.
Especially with calling out misogyny and advocating for herself. She’s in a male dominated field, but she gradually becomes more assertive and confident in correcting these men. She knew exactly what she was talking about. Her knowledge is seriously impressive. I really loved the way Chelsea wrote Quincy, I think she portrayed a young woman in STEM really accurately.

I definitely learned a couple of things about the weather in general, loved this. There’s no hurricanes where I live but the amount of new things I picked up on that I didn’t know was really interesting. We also learn about just being vulnerable, love, and friendship. Learning about how to show up for who you love, embracing the vulnerability for the pay off, a beautiful relationship blossoming, people who see you for who you are, what it truly means.

I really liked Sebastian, he was such a sweetheart. He really is a pocketful of sunshine. The best book boyfriend. He is sweet, caring, and witty. He loves to get under Quincy’s skin, they have a lot of funny banter. I think he kind of knew somewhere deep down, he felt drawn to her. The way he stands up for Quincy, just straight off the bat. Not afraid to put these men in their place. He was also there to interview for the position too, but he didn’t care if him defending Quincy blew his chance for the job. I just fell in love with how amazing he was. I loved how he kept reiterating that she is ‘Dr. Monroe’ and not ‘Ms. Monroe’. Sebastian is a man who will show up, every single time, and genuinely supports Quincy. I appreciated him being vulnerable with Quincy, and confiding in her about the struggles he was facing.

They had such a beautiful relationship, it naturally developed between them. They had great banter and chemistry.

I’m really glad there was no third act breakup, I felt that these characters were very emotionally intelligent and excellent at communicating. Once they both admitted their feelings to themselves, and to each other, they were determined to make their relationship work.

Thank you so much to Chelsea Curto, Pan Macmillan, and NetGalley for the opportunity to receive an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.
It meant everything to have this opportunity, I adore Chelsea Curto. July 16th cannot come quick enough!! I really hope this is the start of a new series! I’m sensing runaway bride x firefighter romance for Mia and Cooper. We definitely need to see what will happen with Nate and Harlow.

- STEM romance
- He falls first
- Best friends brother
- FWB

I don’t even know where to start with this review.

I LOVE Chelsea Curto, and the moment this book was announced, I knew I’d love it. I just don’t think I expected how much I’d love it.

I’m genuinely in awe of this, Quincy and Sebastian are the perfect match. I couldn’t get over how obsessed he was with her from the start. And “Quinny baby” killed me off every single time. UGH! She was his haboob girl all along.

The friendships in this were amazing, too, and I’m gonna need more of these characters. Also, the mentions of the DC Stars series had me squealing! Especially Seb talking about when he got his tattoo.
I don’t know how much more I can say without it getting more spoilery than it already has, but read this. Especially if you already love Chelsea’s books.

What can I say, once again Chelsea Curto has pulled me in and made me fall in love with every character, well apart from Richard! (Iykyk)

I quickly fell in love with the strong independent woman Quincy is and her group of girls. There’s nothing I love more than girls hyping each other, protecting each other and supporting each other especially with the society we live in when so many ladies want to tear others down. Quincy does what she loves best and doesn’t let the male dominated world change that for her.

Sebastian is a fun and quick witted man, with the charm and banter. His in the spotlight but he sees Quin, he knows she’s the best and is a man who can admit when a woman is brilliant at her job.

The banter between Quin and Seb was to die for, I loved the back and forth, the belly laughs it gave me and it had me smiling and giggling like the hopeless romantic that I am. Each character had growth and I am so excited to see who’s story is next and I have a good guess of who it is.

Most of all I loved how this book had a huge part of Chelsea in it, I was learning as I was reading and every storm had me hooked and at the edge of my seat. Who knew that a hurricane could be soooo romantic, describing love like the weather 😍 I need to get myself a weather man 🤭

5 stars for Chelsea Curto's latest sensation!

This story is about two meteorologists, our FMC Quincy is a women in STEM, she's a genius with a PhD and hosts her own weather show online. Our MMC Sebastian is her best friends brother and her biggest rival since high school; who has always gone out of his way to one up her. During thus particular summer, Sebastian returns from New York to his home town in Florida for hurricane season. As the season progresses with a record breaking amount of storms, the two end up spending more and more time together and sparks fly - and I am not referring to the lightening storms!

Highly recommend if your a fan of Ali Hazelwood's steminist novels, I love the representation of women in STEM and Qunicy's struggles with being in her field are really going to resonate with a lot of readers. I do also LOVE the banter, it reminds me a lot of Emmy and Maverick from Face Off but is different enough that it doesn't feel the same. I also appreciate the references to Twister!

I really loved this book and I would recommend it - side note, I am hoping this will be a series because you do really end up loving some of the other characters and I would 100% read their stories!

Listen!!! I have no words to describe how much I loved this book!! I love Chelsea Curto’s books but this one? SO GOOD!!!!
This book felt different and fresh and I’m obsessed.
I loved everything about this one. The characters, the plot, the setting, the weather talk, the way it portrayed women in STEM, how it talked about the different ways women and men are treated in the workplace. Everything was perfect and beautifully done.
The romance is incredibly written, the characters are incredible (the main characters and the other characters in the book) and the spice was amazing. Sebastian was so down bad for Quincey that is was so fun to read.
Can’t wait for everyone to read it an fall in love with Quincey and Sebastian.

Thank you PanMacmillan and Chelsea Curto for the ARC for this one.

My gosh, where do I start!! Quincy and Sebastian had me in a chokehold from the get go. I loved the stem representation in this book, I loved how real it feels sometimes as a female in society, always seen as ‘less’ than a man and Chelsea did such a great job of representing this in her book and the troubles a lot of women face in modern society. I loved Quincy’s firey nature, her intellect but also her determination.

Oh Sebastian, what a guy and where to start! He has loved ‘Quincy baby’ since high school. I love how he tells her how beautiful and clever and deserving of all her success she is! He advocates for her, cheers her on. Even puts his own success of a job on the line to tell others how incredibly smart and deserving she is!! We all need a man like Sebastian. I loved the weather trope in this book. It felt so educational, especially as someone who doesn’t live in a place where these storms happen, I felt like the reality and devastation and danger of these storms was portrayed sensitively but accurately!

I loved every single thing about this book no notes!!!
I was secretly hoping Mia would ditch her fiancé for coop… but hey, maybe in another book?! ;)

There’s something about Chelsea Curto’s books that just has me flying from page to page. I’ve been following the author since she started out in early 2024 with the self-published DC Stars series, and I was instantly captivated. Having heard that she’s now been given the chance to go down the traditional publishing route – and having had a rather bad experience with another author over this in the past – I couldn’t pass this up and am more than grateful for this advance copy. Because what can I say, other than that Chelsea Curto manages time and again to sweep me away with her attention to detail and multi-faceted characters. Even though I’ve now come to recognise the pattern of her books, their structure and writing style, it never gets boring; instead, it creates a feel-good atmosphere. I can’t describe it any other way. I can’t recommend this book and this author highly enough, because Quincy and Sebastian are outstanding once again.

n Stormy Weather by Chelsea Curto is an utter standout romance, and one of my top reads of the year so far!! Quincy Monroe is a brilliant, fiercely determined FMC who unapologetically challenges misogyny in STEM, while still allowing herself moments of vulnerability. Her passion for meteorology and the realism of her experience as a woman in a male-dominated field were incredibly well done. Sebastian Dunn is the ultimate green-flag MMC. He's witty, supportive, and completely DOWN BAD for Quincy. His respect for her, his willingness to stand beside her (not in her way), and their electric banter made their dynamic and their love story a complete delight to read.

The storm-chasing backdrop adds a fresh, engaging layer, balancing meteorology with adventure, tension, and heartfelt emotion. Alongside the romance, the story explores themes of ambition, fear, and being truly seen and supported. With strong side characters and addictive chemistry, this is a must-read for fans of STEM romances with substance, humour, and swoon-worthy moments. This is only the 2nd book by Chelsea that I've read (her Halloween novella was top tier!) but the nods to the DC Stars characters have me absolutely gnawing at the bars of my enclosure to read their series too!!!

I have loved Chelsea Curto's writing for a while and this felt like returning to her comfort area. A beautiful love story between childhood (fr)enemies Quincy and Sebastian. This story really reminded me of BK Borison's writing style - so much angst and yearning as they find their path to loving each other out loud and without boundaries. Watching Sebastian realise how tough Quincy had it living in his shadow of being a male and afforded experiences she could only dream of really struck me - reading him sticking up for and supporting her was so heartwarming. I really hope we see them in more stories in the future.

I'm a big fan of Chelsea Curto's DC Stars books, and was excited to see this pop up: a rom-com featuring two weather-obsessed storm chasers. I wasn't disappointed, and I think this is probably my favourite book by her to date.

I usually enjoy books about women in STEM but sometimes there's a sense of the struggle being front and centre, with the love of the character's chosen field not fully fleshed out. Not here: as someone who originally trained as an environmental scientist, I was super impressed with the way the science was treated here - there was enough real substance that I really believed in Quincy, the FMC, as a independent scientist passionate about communicating her love of all things weather to the general public. The fear of not being enough was also very believable, and I loved that Sebastian was unwavering in being an exceptional ally, no matter how much he also enjoyed sparring with Quincy and getting under her skin. Their banter and rivalry was fertile ground for some great chemistry, and it was so much fun see them dodging the truth of their feelings for one another just as assuredly as they were chasing weather phenomena. I also loved the side characters, and was pleased to see that this looks to be part of a new series set in Oak Valley. And, while this is a standalone story, I enjoyed the little Easter eggs that connected it to Curto's DC Stars books :)

The perfect book for curling up with during a summer storm, for fans of BK Borison and Ali Hazelwood.

🌧️ Rivals to lovers
🌧️ Best friend's brother
🌧️ He falls first

As a lover of both twister and twisters this was phenomenal and I really loved the rival meteorologist aspect and all the science behind the weather (big nerd alert).

Lexi is one of my favourite fmcs in the Chelsea Curto universe and I fear that Quincy is now at the top of the pyramid. I love a strong fmc who knows what she is capable of and pursues her special interests unapologetically and I really loved Quincy. Sebastian? Really struggling to find fulfilment in the job he used to love and totally In denial over his crush on his sister's best friend.

I really enjoyed the chase ( get it because of the storm chasing) and the overall progression of the rival to lover pipeline, it was done so seamlessly with banter, pining and so much forced proximity ( move over ‘one bed’ trope ‘one bathtub’ trope is coming for your crown).

I loved that Quincy was the Tyler Owen’s in this story and was willing to go headfirst into danger and how you could really tell how much she loves what she does. I also really enjoyed Sebastian’s character overall progression; he could’ve been an asshole but instead any chance he got he was very vocal over how much respect their peers should show to Quincy and how much she deserved to be in the room (and how lucky they were that she was).

I will never not read a Chelsea Curto book and despite being quite different from her other books, I really really loved this one a lot. In particular, I enjoyed the continued theme of an intelligent and capable woman in a predominantly male dominated field, that just kills it and proves how much of a badass she is and of course the mmc that’s so down bad for her and supports her loudly and proudly.

I have been a fan of Chelsea from the moment I picked up Face Off last year and when I saw In Stormy Weather announced I was so excited to get to experience another world created by Chelsea, and it did not disappoint!

The premise is fantastic, our FMC and MMC are complex, companionate and caring (with a little bit of cockiness thrown in from Sebastian). This story has everything a good romance book needs and I was so happy there was a third act breakup!!

I couldn’t put this down and I truly got lost in the story so it’s an easy 5 stars from me!

Chelsea Curto never misses👏🏻👏🏻

One of my fave tropes that Chelsea writes so well in all of her books is found family! The way she writes such beautiful friendships where they’re there for each other no matter what and are always celebrating each other!
This proved to be true again with this book and I just absolutely adored both friendship groups so much and the love they have for each other!

Sebastian Dunn, the man that you are.
This man was so different to how I expected him to be and i am so in love with him!
He loves his friends, his sister and of course Quincy🤭

Quincy Monroe is an icon. A woman in STEM with a PHD and knows what she’s talking about! She is so happy and living her dream, she loves the work she does and is the sweetest to everyone around her!

I loved watching Sebastian and Quincy fall in love. They have so much banter but at the heart of it all, Sebastian has so much respect of Quincy and is ready to defend her at a moments notice! He wears her merch, make sure he always has ketchup packets with him and is so in love with her.
They’re so cute together!!

Honestly had the best time reading this book and getting to know these characters! I really felt like i was experiencing the hurricanes and all their emotions with them!!

Another 5 star from Chelsea🤩

This was such an amazing story!! Women in STEM and men who are completely obsessed with them is a trope I'll never get tired of. The banter and the tension was top tier, I ate it up!!

Quincy is a meteorologist with a PhD and a host of a popular online show about the weather. Sebastian is her best friend's brother, a famous TV weatherman, her bitter academic rival who loves to rail her up and he's back from New York for the summer, chasing storms with her and being annoying.. The more time they spend together, finding themselves in dangerous situations, talking about their favourite topic and playing games, they might discover there is a lot more than animosity between them..

Quincy was such a force, incredibly smart, caring and so damn good at her job. I absolutely loved her show, I wish it was real, I would watch it religiously. The way others underestimated her, just for being a woman in a male-dominated field, made my blood boil. She was the best there is and seeing Sebastian standing up for her, always cheering her on and making sure she knew her worth was such a special thing to witness. I also adored her ramblings and the way her brain worked.
Sebastian was witty, sweet, so caring, chaotic and always trying to be cheerful even when he's struggling, but ready to go to war for his Quinny baby. The way he was was there for her and the fact he was attracted to her intelligence, was unmatched. He listened, protected her and instead of stopping her from doing something dangerous, he just joined her. I wish we got more of him though.

Their story was full of so much bickering, it made me giddy. The teasing, the Truth or Dare, the Ferris wheel and Reginald, the broadcasts, Claudia and the Waffle House, the ketchups, the tornado, the game night, the show, the beach, Georgianna, the notes, the picnic, the support, the passion with which they talked about the weather and how aligned they were with each other.. Their story was so good, I couldn't stop reading it. Not only did I read it in one breath, but I stayed up until late to finish it. I couldn't get enough of them.

This is how you write women in STEM, she was an inspiration. As someone who always loved thunderstorms, wanted to know more about natural disasters and was obsessed with the movie Twister, this was a deeply enjoyable experience for me. The atmosphere, the descriptions and them being in the eye of the storm, it was simply amazing.

I can't wait to get more stories, I want to know everything about Mia, Harlow, Nate and Cooper. Their friend group, their dynamic and that found family feeling was the best!!
I highly recommend this!!

"you werent the worst person to chase a hurricane with"
This was such a romcom and what everybody that saw the last twister movie was hoping for at the end. With all the banter, flirt, and friendship between sebastian and quinn, the amount of information about the weather, twisters, clouds and all the data necessary was chef kiss!! How i love women in stem!!
I think the plot was the perfect mix of romance and having you so intrigued about everything hurricane related, making it so fast paced and easy to reas regardless all the science terminology that i wasnt familiar with, and thats probably what i enjoyed the most, in addition with how much everybody in this story encouraged quincy and that big brain of hers and make her feel seen.
I truly enjoyed this one so much, and even there were few glimpses at their friends personalities, it was the right amount that makes you want to read more about them and how their dynamics are gonna work in the future. Cant wait for ther books either.

I had such a wonderful time with this book.
Absolutely loved it. The relationship between Quincy and Sebastian was so sweet ❤️
I loved how driven Quincy was, and how kind and ready to help others.
The woman in stem trope was done very well, and I loved seeing the misogyny in her field, and how she put up with it.
It was such a deep subject and the only think I didn't like was that Sebastian had to stand up for her, but at the same time I unfortunately know that some men will only listen to other men, so it was still nice to see it resolved.
The romance was a gorgeous slowburn, and it was so satisfying to see them get together.
I also can't wait to read the next book ❤️

This was such a fun read that I flew through this book in a couple of hours. I know absolutely nothing about hurricanes, but Chelsea Curto wrote everything in a way that made Quincy and Sebastian's passion for meteorology feel so infectious. It felt like a throwback to the movie Twister !

Quincy and Sebastian were absolutely adorable together. Some of the banter did make me cringe a little at times, especially when they bumped into each other in the supermarket, but not enough to take away from my enjoyment of the book. Their relationship was sweet, fun and well developed. It wasn't rushed and they transitioned from rivals to a couple brilliantly.

I adore the found family aspect of the story. A group of six besties who look like they may end up all paired off together... I hope anyway! Cooper and Mia have to be a given at this point... right????

If you're looking for a cute and easy romance with a decent plot and some well-written spice, I'd definitely recommend this one. I can't wat to dive into Chelsea Curto's hockey series next.

Sebastian and Quincy you are something else! this book. chefs kiss kind of wow.
Chelsea knows how to write books that do something, give something, create something special for us and in us. some authors have a real knack for this. it makes even those past the angst and love story age to revert right back to it and love the yearning once again. but she also doesn't make it all her characters are. and you care more because the effort to give you characters that are more than tropes. and that feel real. an the connection in this one.? off the charts kind of good.
Quincy and Sebastian work in the same field. but they dont exactly work together. but its time, time they are going to either be rivals for the same thing, or figure out that they might actually be better doing it together...in more ways than one.
Quincy is a standout character. it feels iffy to me that we still have to praise woman from in books that are outside certain moulds. whether they be in looks or in vocation etc. but at least they are getting their parts now. and long may the shift continue please. more diverse bodies needs way more rep in this space too but thats for another rant day :D.
i loved how well she did her job, and how well Chelsea made it accessible for me via Quincy's character.
Sebastian. hmmm. again feels iff to be calling out a good man for being a good man lol. it feels sometimes hard to be so in love with couples when they involved good men doing good men things. because we dont believe it to be true? think he will show his true colours? too good to be true and sadly only for romance novels? well, we are where we are in our culture at the moment. and i do think this is one of the major reason romances mean so much for people. its one of the only place you can guarantee some good men, good people.
and now, that isn't to say these two arent human. and make you want to shake them at times. but that doesn't negate good people. im sure we all drive people crazy with our behaviours every now and then.
these two together were just fabulous. im smiling again now just thinking about my time with this book it was so good.
there was alot of showing up in this book. for many things and from many people. Chelsea didnt preach or force issues and themes. they were just there and real. surrounding woman in Quincy's line of work and her having to work extra hard just to be taken seriously i felt with my heart. and Sebastian with that? well, yeh you got it he stepped up, he stood with her. loved that.
the storms were in the pages and in my heart towards the end. i needed these two to get their happy ever after. they now had my heart too.
this was such an enjoyable read. it would get way more than five stars if i could.

If there’s one thing Chelsea Curto does impeccably, it’s write strong independent female characters with men who (rightfully) obsess over them. In Stormy Weather was the perfect combination of women in STEM and romance for me- Quincy’s intelligence and wit was never sacrificed for her relationship; in fact, it brought her and Sebastian together more. I absolutely adored this book, from the banter and tension to the fast paced scenes involving the weather. Everything went together perfectly and really rounded off the love story well- you couldn’t help but root for Quincy and Sebastian from the get go. They were really relatable and loveable characters, and I especially loved Sebastian having Quincy’s back in a way that boosted her up rather than condescend her. I adore Curto’s writing and this was no exception.

I’m discovering a subgenre of romance I wasn’t even aware was a thing! I love when they’re passionate about something I know nothing about. The characters talking about clouds formations and chasing tornadoes together? Loved it. I need more storm chasing romance books, like, right now!

Quincy was such a force of nature. She’s incredibly fierce, smart, confident, caring and kind. Seeing her face men who belittle her and shut them up was both infuriating and inspiring.
I think it goes without saying that Sebastian was an amazing MMC, and that I wish he was real (and my boyfriend lol). The way made her feel appreciated, made her feel seen… It was beautiful. He’s witty and sweet, and a little bit chaotic, but in an adorable way. Plus, he wears a slutty silver chain around his neck…

"𝘚𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯. 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦."

The teasing and the banter between them was top notch! They kind of kept me on my toes too, so I couldn’t stop reading. I’ve read a lot of books with good banter, but I don’t think I’ll ever get over this one. Quincy and Sebastian’s dynamic was so easygoing and full of tension at the same time, it felt electric even through my screen. This was my first impression of Chelsea Curto’s writing, and as a fan of hockey romance, I immediately added her other books to my TBR.

"𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘚𝘦𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯?"
"𝘖𝘩, 𝘸𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘘𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘺 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺."
"𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩? 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘮𝘦."

If I ever get stuck in a storm, I want Quincy by my side to keep me safe and give me advice on how to survive, and I want Sebastian for distraction purposes only. I’ll get in a tub with him. No further comment needed.

Thank you Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

A cute and steamy romance that blew me away!

Quincy is a weather influencer with a huge following thanks to her excellent personality but also her experience and knowledge in the niche. When an opportunity to take her career further appears, she grabs it with both hands, only to find herself up against her long term rival - her best friend's brother and famous beloved TV weatherman. He's back home for the hurricane season, and they keep turning up on the same storm chases and interview rooms. Can they work it out between them, or will they be destined to always fight it out?

I enjoyed the first half of the book, but really could only see myself rating it 4 stars - despite my little grab line up there about it blowing me away, at first, it wasn't really doing that (and pardon the pun, but I had to throw it in there!). It was only later on when I'd fully connected with the characters that a switch flipped and I realised I was loving the story and the romance. One thing that's really stuck with me about their relationship with the ongoing "truth or dare" game they played - it was a fun little quirk between the characters that really gave them life and added to the story throughout (especially towards the end!).

In the summary I read, the book was compared to Ali Hazelwood and B. K. Borison's works, which was obviously a big draw for me to pick it up as I think they're probably in my top 3 contemporary romance authors right now. I can definitely see the parallels, with a woman working in STEM and smashing it, and with the TV angle similar to Borison's recent books. It did still hold its own place with its own voice though and absolutely wasn't a carbon copy of these stories.

I love a book where the characters have a hidden depth beyond the relationship - sometimes it's a passion for cave diving, sometimes it's solving murders on the side, others it's been gaming. In this book, that extra dimension was weather. To those of us for whom weather is just, you know, rainy days and sunshiney days, that doesn't sound all that fun. But these two had such a passion for it for that it was infectious. I love when a simple book can flip my opinion on something that I didn't really care about before and make me see it through their eyes.

There were some brilliantly fulfilled tropes in here with enemies to lovers, forced proximity, nicknames, and workplace rivalry. There were excellent moments of high adrenalin and tension with the big storms that worked very well and had me on the edge of my seat.

I love a good location setting and Florida was the perfect one for this. As someone who's spent a lot of time in the state, albeit not during a hurricane (immediately after one a couple of times though), it was well written and very strong. You could feel the oppressive nature of the weather and the storms - and it was nice to have a character who actually liked the crazy summer weather in Florida rather than complained about it!

The rest of the friendship group was great. There was such great banter between them, particularly the boys. It felt so realistic. It sounds like we're going to get more stories from them which I'm looking forward to!

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publishers for an ARC of this book.

I absolutely love everything Chelsea Curto writes and this new book was no exception! This was actually what I wanted And now back to you to be like - the banter between Quincy and Seb was everything I live for in a romance book. You won’t be disappointed reading this. Also I think I may have to add brothers best friend to my fave tropes list!!

In Stormy Weather is my first Chelsea Curto book, and I could not have picked a better place to start. Rival meteorologists. Rivals to lovers. A badass woman in STEM with a PhD and her own show. And a boy obsessed who just happens to be her best friend's brother. There was absolutely no world in which I was not picking this up.

Quincy is everything. A meteorologist and general force of nature (pun intended) who hosts her own platforms to educate people on weather phenomena. 100% a nerd, and I loved her completely for it.

Sebastian has been a pain in her side since high school. When he comes back from the summer, and the two are pushed together, what follows is the kind of bickering-as-foreplay that makes it very clear, to everyone except apparently them, exactly how much yearning is happening and how desperately they actually want to be in each other's orbit.

I ate this book up. I. Ate. It. Up. Sebastian was perfect. Quincy was perfect. The tension between the two is off the charts. Sebastian is a man who yearns (and whimpers), and that is exactly what Quincy deserves. Someone who will stand by her side, champion her and also dick her down, respectfully.

AND THERE IS NO THIRD ACT BREAK-UP. I need you to understand how much this meant to me.

The one thing I will say: if Quincy and Sebastian's friends don't get their own books, I will be staging a full revolt. I am just as invested in them as I was in Quin and Seb, and I will not apologise for it.

4.5 stars 🌟

In Stormy Weather absolutely blew me away (and solidified my belief that I need to finish the DCC Stars series). Sebastian Dunn is THE blueprint.

As a woman in academia myself, it was so healing to read about Quincy’s struggles, and Sebastian standing up for her was EVERYTHING.

The friendships in this one had me feeling so warm at times and I loved all the little hints towards future couples/books. Mia Dunn, I am waiting for you.

Chelsea Curto obviously did a lot of research for this book and I was so intrigued learning more about weather throughout the story. Quincy & Sebastian would be so proud of me.

I 100% recommend In Stormy Weather and now I’m going to go scream into the void about it for the foreseeable future lol.

“𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭.”

Can we talk about the acknowledgments in this one? No one truly does it like Chelsea Curto.

This story starts out with our fmc thumb-downing an unsollicited phallic picture, so you *know* it’s gonna be a good read. Quincy is a meteorologist, PhD, and host of The Rainy Day Show on all social media. She’s smart, she’s feisty, and she’s a woman in a male-dominated field so she constantly gets dismissed or invalidated. Enter Sebastian: meteorologist, famous face, best friend’s brother, and biggest rival. What she doesn’t know is that he’s absolutely besotted by her. Their banter is amazing, they’re both really sharp and witty and it will make you laugh out loud. The absolute nerdiness of these two is endearing and you absolutely will learn more about weather phenomena in this book because their obsession is contagious. This story was sweet and enthralling and I enjoyed it a lot!

Thank you to Pan Macmillan & NetGalley for sending me an ARC of my beloved Chelsea Curto’s In Stormy Weather in exchange for an honest review.

First things first - this was perhaps my most highly anticipated book of the year and I am so eternally grateful for getting the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this one.

Quincy is a badass woman in a man’s world - a meteorologist with a PhD, host of a successful online weather show and has one million followers on her meteorology Instagram. She’s used to not being taken seriously, the life of a woman in STEM. And the bane of her life? Her best friend’s brother, Sebastian, who has been her rival (academically and then professionally) since high school.

Seb is a high paid, successful TV weatherman with hoards of admirers and countless accolades. He heads back to his hometown in Florida for hurricane season to make a docuseries, and finds himself chasing storms alongside Quincy. High pressure weather systems aren’t the only thing building, and Quin & Seb find themselves caught in the eye of the storm of their inconvenient feelings ⛈️

QUEEN CHELSEA HAS DONE IT AGAIN. I had a fantastic time with this one, I fear I am obsessed with Quin & Seb’s insane chemistry 🌪️ the story was great, i am very much not someone with any sort of STEM background so spent a lot of time having no clue what they were talking about but I was along for the ride!

There are a few things I always love about Chelsea’s work. Number one is the found family of it all. She writes REAL friendships, they feel so organic and lived in. I loved this cast of characters and pleaaase let there be a second book about Mia & Cooper 👀 I am on my knees begging!

Second….the MEN that Chelsea writes. Screaming, crying, throwing up. Sebby is an all timer, he is so pathetic & down bad for his woman. He begs multiple times, I was giddy. I love a man obsessed, especially when they are a total green flag golden retriever. Ugh. I swear, this woman is single handedly responsible for creating like half of my top ten fav fictional men 😂🙌

I need to hold court about my girl Quincy. This woman was everything to me, I absolutely loved her. I am weak for books about women in STEM anyway, but Quin absolutely blew me away. She was so self assured but also allowed herself moments of vulnerability, she absolutely OWNED her sexuality (we love to see it), she eats misogynists for breakfast, she is a total baddie. I, too, would be on my knees for her.

The romance was gorgeous, my dream amount of yearning and pining and general loveliness. So many of my fav tropes, and it was actually romantic. My heart was pounding, eyes misting, stomach flipping…I was giddy for most of the dang book.

This book is for everyone who watched Twisters and was left screaming WHY DIDNT THEY FUCKING KISSSSSSSS at the screen. Rivals to lovers, forced proximity, best friend’s brother, banter for days and spice that had me feral. I LOVED THIS BOOK!

It was my first book by Chelsea Curto and I can't believe it took me this long. It will certainly not be my last.

Rivals-to-lovers has always been a trope I enjoyed and Chelsea Curto surpassed my expectation for it. The banter/teasing and respect ratio was absolutely perfect. Both MCs acknowledged how good the other was, no matter how annoying. It made their falling in love that much more believable and sweeter.

Quincy and Sebastian had amazing chemistry, that I could feel sizzling through the pages. But their relationship was also built on respect and communication, which I find so important.

Quincy was an incredible FMC. Strong, driven, knowing her worth and not afraid to go for what she wanted. Chelsea perfectly described her struggles as a woman in a man-dominated field and I loved how Sebastian slowly understood what she was truly up against.

Sebastian definitely was a swoon-worthy, down bad, green flag MMC. The way he was fiercely protective of Quincy while letting fight her own battles if she chose to made me melt more than once.

This book left me feeling warm and fuzzy and my heart full. I'm already looking forward to the next installment in this series and will be picking up Chelsea's other books in the meantime!

Ahh.. Chelsea Curto has done it again! Another engaging romance filled with sharp banter, undeniable chemistry, and characters that are easy to love. I read it SO quickly and it got me out of a reading slump.

Quincy was a standout heroine,, confident, ambitious, and thriving in a male-dominated field. I especially appreciated her determination and authenticity throughout the story.

Sebastian was equally compelling, with his thoughtful support and attention to the little things making their relationship feel genuine and heartfelt. Their chemistry kept me invested from beginning to end.

I also enjoyed the meteorology elements woven throughout the story. As someone who has experienced hurricanes and severe storms firsthand, I appreciated the realism and found those details surprisingly fascinating.

Overall, In Stormy Weather was a fun, engaging read that showcased everything I enjoy about Chelsea Curto’s writing.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much to Pan and Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to read Seb and Quin’s story before it’s released in July. I knew before requesting it, it would be a five-star read. I wasn’t wrong. Chelsea writes the most delicious MMCs and utterly badass FMCs. I knew they’d be dreamy and I knew I’d be obsessed with them. Again, I wasn’t wrong. Chelsea always writes such well formed characters and you can always tell that it’s extensively researched and I always end up learning something on a topic I have little or no understanding of. Chelsea’s books are top tier!

I couldn’t stop reading their story and was thinking about them when I wasn’t reading. The formatting on the file was terrible on my kindle that I had to keep coming back to it. Had it been better, I know I’d have read it in one sitting. I cannot wait to listen to this as an audiobook when it’s released. With Alex Kydd and Stella Hunter narrating, it’s going to be an absolute ✨joy✨ to listen to.

I have read almost all of Chelsea’s back catalogue and I love how easily she mentions other characters in the universe she’s created, the Easter eggs sprinkled in and I can’t help but squeal when I get the references. It’s like an inside joke, iykyk. I’m also excited for book #2 in the series, I’ll keep my guesses to myself until after pub day!

In Stormy Weather is out on 16th July in the UK. My audiobook is pre-ordered and I cannot wait for everyone to read this! 💜💜💜💜💜💜

‘All’s fair in weather and war, Quinny baby.’
Omg this book was a big fat 5 stars for me, I devoured it in about 2 days!

This story is about Quincy and Sebastian, rivals since school and both end up in the same field for work. Quincy has a PhD in atmospherics science and is a host for an online weather show, chasing storms and teaching her followers about the weather. Sebastian is a TV weatherman and lives in New York, but after losing his spark in the job, he returns home to Florida.

Quincy is a force to be reckoned with, she’s highly intelligent, funny and very passionate about her job. With being one of the only women in her field, she always feels she has to prove to people she knows what she’s talking about.
Sebastian freaking Dunn!! Why is this man not real? 🫠 He is completely lovable, supportive, witty and caring. The banter between the two of them is just off the charts and made me feel giddy the whole way through the book! It’s also pretty educational, who knew I’d learn so much about hurricanes and the weather? 😂

I love Chelsea’s other books so thank you to the publisher for giving me this ARC and the opportunity to review it!

This was so cute. As usual with a book by Chelsea, I absolutely loved it. Quincy and Sebastian were so good together and I completely loved the side characters.

It did take a little while to get warmed up, and I will admit that I didn’t love Sebastian at first, but by the end I was obsessed with him and Quincy.

I am so happy that I got to read an ARC of this, especially since it’s Chelsea’s trad debut. It’s absolutely amazing, and I need everyone to read it.

I love Chelsea Curto, and In Stormy Weather just adds to the list of reasons why.

Sebastian and Quincy are just amazing. Quinny is an amazing FMC smart, funny, caring, hard working and strong willed. Reading about a woman in STEM was a break away from my usual and I loved it.

Sebastian is a typical charmer of an MMC. I love how he's got banter and charm, as well as intelligence. But most of all I adore how down bad he is for Quinny and he's not afraid to shout about her from the roof tops. Chelsea knows how to write supportive MMCs and always delivers on the feels, and chemistry with them. Also his longterm pining, and following of Quincy *chefs kiss* 10/10.

Quincy and Sebastian you have my heart🫶🏻

I think this is one of my favourite reads of 2026 so far because Chelsea Curto just knows how to tug heartstrings and make me swoon at the same time!

Chelsea writes with such detail not only for her world building but her characters even more so. I’m so excited for hopefully more of these guys.

The spice? Hot.
The romance? Swooooooning.
The banter? 10/10
The weather? Got its moment 🫡

Nothing can rain on Quincy Monroe’s parade. She’s a woman-in-STEM with a PhD in atmospheric sciences, the host of a successful online weather show, and has one million followers on her meteorology Instagram.

Quincy is such an intelligent, sassy and caring woman that I would immediately like her to be my best friend - please and thank you! She is the epitome of sunshine who radiates joy and passion when she is talking about various weather phenomenons. I love that she is so confident in herself that she does stand up for her right to be in a room - that she has earned her spot like everyone else. Her friendships with the girls were so good to see too! I would have loved to see more of this but since they’re all badass working women, it’s totally okay!
Sebastian cannot help but press Quincy’s buttons and yet, I was not mad about it in the slightest! He does it in a way that isn’t malicious, instead clearly teasing and joking in a friendly manner. The way he stood up unnecessarily for Quincy too had me grinning like a goon - we love a man confident enough to recognise that the smartest one in the room isn’t him! His protective nature coming to light as well was just absolute perfection. Who wouldn’t want a Seb in their life?

Having enjoyed this author’s D.C Stars ice hockey series, I was incredibly excited to see a new book being released that is set in a completely different professional world. I had high hopes after finding so much enjoyment in her writing and I can happily say I wasn’t disappointed! What a fantastic plot, blending all the STEM elements in a way that’s easy to read and understand whilst incorporating rivals to lovers and so much banter I couldn’t stop smiling! The addition of a small cast of characters really enhanced the overall story, heightening the emotions - the joy, the panic, the sadness. They all felt as though they had a purpose too beyond just supporting the leads. They added history to the story and also opened the option to have this be an interconnected series as well. Romance wise, Curto is a genius. The rivals to lovers arc was absolute perfection, bolstered by the delightful banter that ran from start to finish. The way these characters fell for each other but then had such a deep emotional connection made me feel all gooey on the inside! Add in the spice and omg, I am obsessed with this pairing! If I could just have these two forever, I definitely would! The ending felt so perfect too! A brilliant way of ending their story and also hinting at a continuation?! YES PLEASE!

Overall, In Stormy Weather is a stunning book celebrating women in STEM with banter galore!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Chelsea Curto for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I really loved this book.
I was a bit unsure about the whole storm-chasing element at first, but since I’ve enjoyed Chelsea Curto's books before, I wanted to give it a chance and I’m so glad I did. It added such a fun layer of action and adventure to the story.

This is rivals to lovers and best friend’s brother, and it’s done SO well.
Their banter is constant, they can’t agree on anything, yet they can’t stay away from each other (especially him from her). It’s so obvious to the reader that he’s into her, even if he doesn’t fully realize it himself at first. The way he cares about her, is proud of all she has accomplished, trusts her abilities and stands up for her when needed. I loved that!

They’ve been competing against each other since high school, through college, and even now as meteorologists but there’s still so much respect between them. They truly have each other’s backs.

Also, the friend group was so fun. I really hope we get more books with them.

In Stormy Weather is exactly the kind of romance that makes rivalry feel less like a trope box being ticked and more like two extremely competent people refusing to be normal about each other.

Quincy was the biggest draw for me. I love a STEM heroine who is ambitious, prickly in the right places, and very aware that she has had to work harder to be taken seriously. Her career, her confidence, and her need to stay in control all made the romance feel more charged, because Sebastian is not just some random man wandering into her life. He is the professional rival, the academic rival, the best friend’s brother, and, frankly, an HR problem with good timing.

The storm-chasing setup gives the forced proximity real pressure. I liked that the weather angle was not just cute window dressing; it gives the book its whole mood: humid, tense, dramatic, and one bad decision away from emotional property damage.

This is a strong pick for readers who like smart heroines, professional rivalry, close proximity, and romance that builds out of irritation, respect, and the deeply inconvenient realization that the person you want to outdo might also be the person who understands you best.

Thank you Netgalley, Publisher and author for an arc !

A massive thank you to Pan Macmillan and Chelsea Curto for the opportunity to be an arc reader for this new book of hers.

I LOVE this quirky book!!! I absolutely couldn’t care less about the weather, but reading this book, almost made me want to go storm chasing myself 😂 rivals-to-lovers, best friend’s brother and he falls first. What else could you want in a book? I’m convinced Chelsea doesn’t have it in her to write a bad book, she is AMAZING. I will forever be reading everything she writes.

The ending was so Seb and Quincy coded, loved every second of it. Really hoping we’re getting the stories of the other people in this book as well 👀

As someone who was (and is) totally obsessed with the DC stars series, I was curious to see what this book was going to be. And let me tell you, she did not disappoint! Add it to your tbr, it comes out the 16th of July!!

I'M OBSESSED. Chelsea's writing is an addictive romantic whirlwind.

When the first chapter gives you lines like "What I can’t handle is the unsolicited phallic images I received before the clock struck seven." I'm instantly hooked.

Quincy runs @therainydayshow where she's amassed over a million followers and chases hurricanes and extreme weather events still living in her home town. She's applied for the opening position at NES. Sebastian her arch rival and the golden weather boy of the ABC has blown back into town. Both of them applied for the same bureau job. Sebastian's time back home is limited to the hurricane season, will they both be able to chase storms and sort out their feelings or will it all blow over?

First of all, let's talk about the weather. Chelsea absolutely smashed it, as someone who studies the environment and loves an interesting weather events this was so well written. The science terminology was easy to understand. (Especially as an international who isn't as familiar with US terminology).

Second, Quincy's battle with being a women in a men dominated field and not being taken seriously. “It’s just... it feels like I’ve carried this... this weight of being a woman in this field for so long, and this is the first time I haven’t had to carry it alone.” I felt this, and it's a joke that men are so precious about their fields, especially when women can do it better. The fact that Sebastian isn't afraid to call this out. He's the biggest green flag.

Now the romance, 10/10 I need more fictional men written by Chelsea.
The romance, the banter and the declarations have me weak. LIKE SEBASTIAN NOTICES THE LITTLE THINGS. “You... you brought ketchup packets for me?” My vision turns hazy at the edges, realization settling in. “Why?” This man took notes of a passing comment about Quincy liking ketchup on everything and now has a personal stach for her.

AND WITH DECLARATIONS LIKE THIS “I had this wild idea that maybe you were thinking about me too. We were tied together, kind of. The stars and the moon and the tides and the sun. And us. Quincy and Sebastian. Two idiots who were waiting for the perfect time to get it right. When I was really going out of my mind, I pretended there was a world where I was the one who made you happy. Where you picked me every time.” 110/10 I'm crying.

And

“I wish, more than anything else, you could see yourself from my eyes. Because you know what you would find? The most beautiful, most deserving person worthy of everything she’s ever dreamed of. And if I could? I’d spend all my money, I’d barter with the devil, I’d find a way to give you everything you’ve ever wanted, just so you could see how incredible I think you are.”

Sebastian is the greenest and most supportive flag.

I don't think I've been so proud as I have been with Quincy's journey but I couldn't help but feel proud for her fictional journey.

This book is for the romance girls, girls in STEM and the ones who feel like they aren't seen.

In Stormy Weather is a love story between two meteorologists whose feelings caught on faster than a Category 5 Tornado! From the very beginning, there is clear chemistry between the two main characters that had me absolutely hooked. I really enjoyed their banter and the tension that they had throughout the book.

Aside from the romance, Quincy is a woman working in STEM who has to stand out in a male dominated industry. It was interesting to see what her character had to put up with and sadly it didn't shock me that she was having to field so many challenges. I also loved the way that Sebastian put their differences aside to champion and support her while she navigated some of the comments and put downs. I particularly enjoyed the interview panel and how he stood up for her in such a respectful way.

As someone who loves a disaster film, this brought major Twister/Twisters vibes. Not only was there the journey of the two main characters but it was also told through the hurricanes and tornados in Florida. The side story of storm chasing and the thrill of the weather was a great addition.

Im a sucker for banter and the banter between Sebastian and Quin was pure perfection. Every interaction crackled with chemistry, wit, and enough tension to keep me grinning from start to finish. Quin is an absolute firecracker and their dynamic felt effortless, making it impossible not to laugh.

I also loved how much I actually learned while reading this. The STEM elements were woven into the story so naturally that I found myself genuinely interested and picking up new facts along the way. Seeing a woman thriving in STEM was fantastic, and the book didn't shy away from highlighting the very real challenges women still face in male dominated industries.

Overall, I loved this book. It was a superb read with everything I enjoy: banter, spice, a love story and a strong female character. Would absolutely read more from this author!

In Stormy Weather is a new storm chaser romance that is filled with comedy, great side characters, undeniable sexual tension and a brilliant storyline. Best selling author of the D.C Stars series has written a new romance that is going to take over the bookish community!!

“𝕀 𝕨𝕒𝕟𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕠 𝕗𝕦𝕔𝕜 𝕞𝕖 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕥𝕖 𝕞𝕖.”

One of the best things about this book was the banter being used as foreplay, I love it when a book makes you laugh out loud and this did exactly that. It was pure comedy and I need some more exactly like this. Not only that you have a MMC who is utterly obessed with the MFC, Sebastian Dunn ladies and gentleman is a man who know what he wants and he gets turned on by everything the MFC does. And the MFC!! Oh my Quincy Monroe, I've developed a little bit of a crush on her. She's a women in a male dominated industry who doesn't take shit from no one 😱 what more could you want. Not just that she's extremely comfortable in asking for what she wants and it made the spicy scenes very hot!!
What i loved most about this book is the pure love that you can tell was between the two main characters, I'm not ashamed to admit I cried when the confessions started coming out, it was beautifully written.

Absolutely in love with the start of this new series! Anything Chelsea Curto writes, I read. Honestly, I’d read her grocery list if I could!

As a huge fan of the DC Stars series, getting a little glimpse of Quincy and Sebastian had me beyond excited to finally get to know them better.

⛈️In Stormy Weather ⛈️ felt like wrapping myself in a cozy blanket. This is so much more than a romance novel, and I love books that teach you something along the way. I’m lucky to live in a place where hurricanes aren’t a concern, but it was fascinating to learn more about them and the importance of being prepared. The weather knowledge throughout this story is incredible and it’s impossible not to get pulled into it. Before you know it, you’re just as obsessed with weather as these two are!

When speaking of Quincy it’s impossible not to talk about Sebastian. This man is the definition of obsessed. He has had a crush her for YEARS. He’s been watching her broadcasts live for 7 YEARS! If that isn’t commitment, I don’t know what is. Their chemistry, their communication, their connection…everything about them is perfection.

I’m completely enamored with these two, and I can’t wait to dive even deeper into this new world ⛈️

I read an eARC of this book on NetGalley so thank you to the author and the publisher.

Romance isn’t my favourite genre but I read them because every now and then one like this comes along which is an absolute delight to read.

I loved how passionate the two main characters were about meteorology. This is a STEM romance with two talented and knowledgeable people with an intense love of women. They’re both intelligent, hardworking and fascinated by their field. I really liked this. It made them both easy to root for, but also made them feel like fully fleshed out characters who have full lives beyond romance.

This book takes place over a summer, where the two characters are storm chasing. The female character Quincy for her social media accounts where she runs The Rainy Day Show, providing educational content about weather. The male character is a famous weather presenter but he’s burned out and wants to make a documentary series which has him back in is Floridian home town for the summer. They have an antagonistic relationship stemming from high school, but a shared love of weather. Rivals to lovers often doesn’t work for me, because the people are too nasty to each other early on. But here, you could see the mutual respect and that they’re both nice people.

I found this really engaging, I loved all the weather content, I was really rooting for these two and it was an exciting read!

It’s quite possible that I may have walked away from this book with enough knowledge about the weather and forecasting, I could make it a full-time job. And I am not even exaggerating. The amount of research that went into this book was awesome, so hats off to Chelsea for that alone.

Don’t come for me, but this is the first book from Chelsea that I have read, yes, I know, absolute blasphemy. But I can say with absolute certainty that it will not be the last. I absolutely loved every aspect of this book. From the weather details to the rivalry, and even the romance. It was all executed so amazingly well.

Quincy was a badass FMC. The determination was unmatched, and the fact she grew her social media to represent her love of forecasting was incredible. Especially in what was an “male-dominated” field. She is smart, powerful and unbelievably driven. A true badass.

The banter between the two MC’s was one of the best I’ve read, there were so many laugh out loud moments and overall, I just had such a fun time with their whole dynamic. This was a 5* rom-com.

This book is a 6 star read because it not „only“ has romance and good spice but it also has one of the most interesting topics in a Romance read ever and I love that. These books are rare and I feel really privileged to have read it early.

The topic of weather phenomena and Quin(the FMC) hunting storms and hurricanes is soo amazing. Love everything about that and when she is then joined by Sebastian (the MMC) it all comes together so perfectly.
I love his yearning and that he would go to the ends of the world for her while she has despised him a great part of her life.
The book is thrilling, emotional, also deals with prejudice against women in a great way and it has an amazing message. Love it!

Everything about this book was perfect! Cant wait for another book about one of the other characters that were introduced.
