I honestly forgot how addictive Kresley Cole’s writing is because the second I started this, I was GONE.
This book has that really intense atmosphere where everyone feels dangerous, nobody fully trusts each other, and every conversation feels like it could either turn into murder or making out. Which obviously is exactly my thing.
The characters are all kind of messy and morally questionable in a way that made me so invested because I genuinely never knew who to trust. Every time I thought I understood someone, the book would reveal something new and suddenly I was questioning everything again.
And the tension????? insane.
Like this is one of those books where even small interactions feel charged and you can feel all the obsession, anger, attraction, and chaos simmering underneath everything. I was eating it up.
I also just really loved the atmosphere of the whole thing. It feels dark, dramatic, emotional, and slightly unhinged in the best way.
And honestly this reminded me why people get so obsessed with Kresley Cole books because once this story gets its claws into you, it does NOT let go.The tension, the pacing, the constant feeling that something terrible was about to happen… it had me hooked the entire time.
I already know this series is going to ruin my life a little bit and I’m completely okay with that.That ending though?? I actually just sat there staring at the wall for a minute afterwards because WHAT was that. I already know waiting for the next book is going to feel painful.

Wow. I've never read any Kresley Cole before. This book was insane. So many points of view. So many different fantastical groups. But I loved it. It was dark and spicy and so bad.

Deliciously dark and decadent, vivid and inventive, this book never lets up. I devoured it in a day despite it not being my usual style. Cole manages to keep a large cast of characters and an incredibly complex plot riveting through every page. Kudos!

Immortals Untold Book One

Initial thoughts when seeing all those different names on the chapters title on the contents page, I knew there was going to be a lot going on.

It took me awhile to keep track of everyone, but we got there. Long term Kresley Cole fan and this did not disappoint.

I absolutely loved this ‘darker’ Immortals After Dark adjacent world. I enjoyed all the characters we met and as we get closer to the end of this instalment, I was way too invested and the story took turns that I wasn’t ready for.

The last 25% of this book had me on the edge of seat; brought on so much emotion and I can’t wait for the rest of this series.

Preordered the audiobook can’t wait for Robert Petkoff to put this in my ears.

Ravenous is a dark, addictive paranormal romance packed with danger, tension and undeniable chemistry. Ravenous is the first instalment in a new paranormal romance series, Immortals Untold, from Kresley Cole, a veteran paranormal romance writer (we’re talking Twilight era).

The novel is set in Skein, which is a pocket dimension attached to Gaia (essentially Earth) and contains all manner of different paranormal creatures: vampires, werewolves, berserkers, valkyries, strigoi, ghouls, various types of demons include incubi, etc. The creatures were exiled from Gaia 3000 years ago during the Exile and have lived in Skein ever since.

The book picks up just before the Accession happens, a special event every 500 years in which the creatures fight to win total world domination. Every 3rd Accession, the portal back to Gaia opens for a small window of time.

We follow the main characters in a multiple POV third person perspective. Princess Lia is a vampire princess who is determined to remain as human as possible and escape her brother Costin, who is mad and evil. Inkletter, an incubus, is tricked by Lia’s friend and smuggler Nadja, and delivers Lia to the berserkers, where Lia is then arrange-married to Arctos, a powerful second-in-command. Thane is king of the werewolves and is supported by his second command Lowell. Upon meeting the new High Priestess of the witches, Ditch, a half-witch-half-demon, Thane realises he’s her mate. Lowell is also enamoured with Ditch’s assistant, frumpy, nerdy Meera. Other POVs from Valkyries also surface throughout the book.

PARANORMAL ROMANCE IS SO BACK! I loved this. I did cringe at some points and there were a few plot holes but I also laughed out loud and was squealing at the romance - I really appreciated not making every single pair fated mates. Also loved the overarching plot and the worldbuilding. I’m going to have to devour her backlist now to fill the hole.

Cole masterfully balances epic fantasy with swoon-worthy romance, creating a story that is impossible to put down. The world-building is rich, the action is thrilling, and every character’s journey feels meaningful. Each storyline adds another layer to the larger conflict, making the book both exciting and emotionally rewarding.

With its compelling cast, immersive setting, and perfectly paced plot, Ravenous is a spectacular start to the Immortals Untold series. Fans of paranormal romance and fantasy will be completely engrossed from beginning to end and eagerly awaiting the next installment.
