A tale of two countries, a tale of two women. A long-kept family secret rewrites two lives.

In present day England a daughter tries to understand a decision her mother made decades ago as a young woman in post-war Germany. While attempting to unravel her mother’s story, the daughter’s life turns increasingly into a mirror image of that of her mother and she begins to echo her mother’s painful experience of love and broken boundaries.
