Okay… I’m going to be honest. I am sooo confused. 😂

Kerry, her daughter Julie, and Kerry’s mother Eileen have their lives completely turned upside down one day, seemingly out of nowhere. I’m not going to give away the details because figuring out what the heck is happening is really part of the experience. And yes… there is a baby and there are four cots. That’s about as much as I’m giving you!

This book was definitely different from what I expected. I went in thinking I knew what kind of story I was getting, and C.R. Lang basically said, “Oh honey, you have no idea.” 😂

I actually liked the story and, for the most part, I liked the characters. MOST of the time. There were definitely moments when I wanted to reach through the pages and ask, “What in the hell are you doing?!” There were a few WTF moments that had me scratching my head, but then the story would take another turn and I’d find myself getting pulled right back in.

What I appreciated most was that this wasn't your typical predictable family drama. There were some twists and turns I didn't see coming, and even when I wasn't completely sure what was happening, I wanted to keep reading to figure it out.

Was everything perfect? Nope. Did I have questions? SO MANY QUESTIONS. 😂 But I can't deny that the story kept me interested, and sometimes a book that leaves you sitting there afterward going “Wait… what?” is better than one you forget five minutes after finishing.

Final Verdict: A different kind of read that wasn't exactly what I expected, but I enjoyed the ride. A few WTF moments, some questionable character choices, and plenty to keep me turning the pages. 3 stars from me.

This was a pretty decent read I felt like it was missing something but it had a great plot I will recommend

The revelations were not shocking (perhaps because of the backgrounds of those involved) but the story is an interesting enough read.

I reallt enjoyed how it was all set in one day but found the ending quite abrupt.

this was a really interesting read and certainly followed its own formula. and i really enjoyed that. alot of reads have become just a tad formulaic recently. and this doesn't always mean its a bad thing that some do, because when done well you get what we all love. but this one totally took me to new place.
this was a family drama with bells on. but then we dont always know what goes on behind those many doors on our streets do we?
its also a big light on family dynamics when things get turned on their head, when people we love or have in the family do things we dont always agree with and sometimes definitely dont.
the three woman in this book were complex, human and had their flaws and all for us to see. and i genuinely wanted to see right to the end to see where we would leave them after everything that happened.
im glad i got to read this one. it was a great refresh of the reading palette. and it really didn't go the place i thought it would more than once.
