A great book with examples on how to best pick out a catchy title for a book. Not only that, it's short, to the point, conversational, and also has many name generating sites you can use.
It also covers pen names.
I've read many books on publishing/writing - and this is well worth it no matter if you're a novice or expert.

I'm currently writing a book and as a result of reading this I've created a better more action-oriented title. It made me realise is been far too pedestrian in my thinking.

You won't waste money by buying this book. In fact, along with a good cover this book will make you money if you use it to help you make a better title. So glad I read this. Eye-opening.

As an author, I am always on the lookout for a book that propels me forward as a writer and helps me sell more books. Book Title Generator does both!
Part marketing book, and part how-to guide for authors, this book combine’s Scott Lorenz’s three decades of experience in marketing with his intimate knowledge of the publishing world to offer a one-of-a-kind guide to naming your book.
While the saying goes “You can’t judge a book by its cover,” we all know that we do. The cover is the first thing readers see, and the title should not only tell them what the book is about, but offer them a gem of inspiration for why they want to read it. Does the book entertain? Does it inform? What is the genre? Lorenz offers ways to sell what’s inside.
Lorenz also talks about certain traits that can raise your book up in the ranks, such as why numbers are often important in a title, and how to use keywords to increase reach in search engines.
He says: Without a powerful title, your book, however well-written it might be, is destined to fall behind the competition. What makes one title outperform another in the terms of clicks, likes, and sales is oft-misunderstood.
Lorenz, publicist and president of Westwind Communications, is no stranger to the book world. Having spent decades helping authors market their books onto top bestseller lists such as USA TODAY, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon, he knows what works and what doesn’t.

I particularly enjoyed the sections on alliteration, idioms and mash-ups.
A great resource for all independent publishers.

A quick and easy book to read, with some useful hints and tips, and good examples throughout. I'm gutted he didn't talk about crowdtesting titles and covers more. Quite short!

Every author, regardless of where they're at in their career or hobby, should read this book. While we aren't supposed to judge a book by its cover - we all do it, and a book's title plays into that. The importance of a catchy title cannot be overstated.
This book will help any author, no matter what they write. It belongs on every author's shelf as a useful tool.

This is a must-have for any author trying to come up with a book title. It helps you think through what will make someone pick up (or click) your book because they know it is the genre they're looking for--along with a great cover, of course, but that's for another book. Pen names and other related info are also discussed.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.
