This is an absolutely stunning book!! I love that each of the boards is shown in full color and that all the details are on the opposite page. The recipes are delicious sounding and I want to make each and every one of these boards. I am definitely looking forward to starting on it this weekend. Will definitely be buying this in hard copy.

This is the perfect recipe book for every person who loves hosting a get together! Full of deliciously colorful photographs that perfectly illustrate how to arrange and present each board, Vegan Boards features creative and fun ideas ranging from the simple to the more advanced. Some boards call for store bought items but plenty include homemade ingredients which Kasbee provides the recipes for in the back of the book. I can't wait to put some of these board ideas to use!

What a gorgeous cookbook! This book is full of stunning pictures, and the concept of Vegan boards to present to your loved ones in family style is intriguing. There are Vegan recipes for Breakfasts and Brunch, Lunches, Dinners, Snacks, Parties, and Holiday fare. The presentation ideas are clever and fun. Right now with all of us spending a lot more time at home, we have fallen into ruts with what we eat. This is a way to provide delicious, healthy, eye-catching food to your family right at home.

I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

This is a gorgeous grazing plate book!!

While I'm not vegan most of this boards absolutely appeal to me. There's sweet and savory boards and plates with information about what's included in each. The photos of each board are beautiful! There's also recipes included in the back so you can recreate every board yourself. There's helpful information in choosing and designing a board as well as tips for what to include. Not all of the boards are practical, but they are beautiful and fun and so many great ideas! Some of the recipes include vegan cheese and other plant-based alternatives instead of just fruits and vegetables so it's a pretty thorough book.

Great read of beautiful boards and snacking ideas!

Such a wonderful book! I love making boards at home and how done that for years, but never realized until now how versatile it is, and that so many things can be turned into boards. I got many new great ideas from this book. I will for sure make several of these boards. The pictures are absolutely stunning! Can't say which one is my favourite since there are too many great ones to choose from. I also love it that most can be done without too much effort. Takes awhile to chop some things, but otherwise I'm sure anyone can make great boards. There are some recipes in the book, but they are fairly simple and straightforward.

Vegan Boards by Kate Kasbee is a brilliant take on snack boards that are traditionally filled with meats and cheeses. As someone who currently does not follow a vegan diet, this book is full of fantastic ideas to incorporate healthier foods as snacks that can be enjoyed by everyone.
The book itself is presented beautifully. Each recipe has a full paged picture of how the board will look and there are ideas for meals for any time of the day and all kinds of occasions.
This is a brilliant book, not just for those who currently have a vegan diet, but also for anyone looking to transition into this lifestyle.

Really enjoyed the vegan board recipes and am excited to try these with my family. The recipes seem very favorable and I love the amount of time needed to prepare these for my family and friends when we entertain. I would highly recommend this book to friends and family!!

What a gorgeous book! The pictures are stunning and the "recipes" are simple enough to assemble. I love that it was separated into occasion charcuterie boards thus depending on whether you want a breakfast, dinner, or even a party charcuterie board you can flip straight to those pages. Especially important for a book such as this is the inclusion of a photo for each one of these boards. I highly look forward to purchasing this book when it is published!

I love this book for bringing beautiful and exciting spreads to those who are vegan or simply looking for healthier options. The recipes look delicious and are much more exciting than a smile meat and cheese platter. I can't wait to make some of these for my next gathering.
Many thanks to Harvard Common Press and NetGalley for the advance copy.

This is a fantastic book. There are beautiful photographs for each platter, with detailed instructions and recipes. I have made two platters and they turned out perfect. I highly recommend this book for people seeking vegan platter ideas.

In love with this book!
First things first – this can be for vegans and non-vegans alike. You can always replace a vegan dip by a cheesy dip or adjust the boards, but the point is it is beautiful and colourful and the boards leap off the page and they are perfect for when we can have some sort of social life again. (Yes, some are good for now, but really, they should be shown off and enjoyed with others.)
It’s less of a recipe book and more about presentation. Rather than having a detailed recipe for tacos, it is a build-your-own taco board. Same for some desserts and other “meals”.
Board after board is broken down into elements (rather than ingredients) and pairings and there is a board for every occasion.
The recipes you do need are at the back. I was particularly interested in salsas and dips to mix up (and, let’s be honest elevate my beloved crudités platters) and it didn’t disappoint.

At first glance it might be easy to dismiss Vegan Boards by Kate Kasbee as a coffee-table book courtesy of the Instragram era. Yet, while many of the food layouts, though eye-catching, have practical-ole-me wondering why you would serve the peanut sauce on the side of the noodles rather than just mix them together so you don’t create a mess or why would you waste all of that time to create that board when it strikes me as impractical, some are definitely guest-worthy. Certainly, creating a breakfast board for guests on a Saturday or Sunday morning or on vacation seems like it would be a wonderful, appreciated gift, especially if you can come close to recreating the picture-worthy boards that Kate Kasbee had done.

Besides pages of board ideas with instructions for breakfasts, snacks, mealtimes, and desserts, Kasbee has a slew of recipes that had my taste buds activating. These are not the recipes that you encounter over and over again in vegan cookbooks (I should know 😉 ). I love the idea of trying different flavored cauliflower wings, chickpea scramble, chickpea salad sandwiches, caramelized onion dip (talk about salivating!), Banh Mi pulled jackfruit, rustic peach jam with thyme, and roasted beet hummus. I mean, do you see where I’m going with this? These are tantalizing recipes that just make me want to run into the kitchen and rustle them up!

While I might not become the Martha Stewart of food boards or whoever the reigning queen of food boards might be, I can see myself trying this for guests just to impress. Because I know they would be if I produced a board that in any way resembled some of these! And, the recipes. Oh, yes, I am definitely doing the recipes.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Such a great book. Love that there is a photo for every board in this book. Our family loves food boards and I haven’t been able to find many ideas online for them. This is such a great collection and I live that it even includes breakfast boards!

Definitely one of the most creative cookbooks I’ve seen. It’s perfect for inspiration for a meal for a night in or a night where you’re hosting a crowd. Very stunning and easy ways to execute any type of board for any occasion. Makes you excited to host and it seems so simple and easy!

I really enjoyed this cookbook. As someone who is trying to incorporate more vegan options into her menu, I found it very useful. The recipes are not overly difficult, which I always appreciate. And the visuals made everything really appetizing.

This is a gorgeous and fun book of all kinds of vegan boards, from Cincinnati chili boards to breakfast in bed boards. They're all colorful and absolutely gorgeous, and make you want to make them all. Each board is shown in a giant color photo and then the opposite page tells you the ingredients/recipes each one uses and the steps to assemble it. Then the second section of the book has recipes. There is no nutritional information provided for the recipes, but otherwise it's a wonderful book.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Ah incredible cookbook filled with innovative recipes and beautifully displayed food. I was planning to make the sweet potato board for my family boxing day event but was unable to due to last minute pandemic restrictions, but will make a smaller version for myself and my partner. Shows vegan food does not need to be boring!

When one thinks of "food boards" per say, one usually doesn't think of breakfast boards, I was pleasantly surprised to see the chia parfait board upon "opening" of Ms Kasbee's book. The photos are fresh, vibrant and popping! The build your own bagel board is smart. Also the Mediterranean grazing board I practically grew up with being from Metro Detroit ( I love that one).

This book is genius for couples that wanna do a movie at home and just don't feel like cooking but still want something substantial. This book has some great recipes for the special parts of the boards as well. The jackfruit for the Bahn Me Board and the Coconut Chickpea Curry, Lemony Pea Pesto. Yum Yum!

I've got a few people in mind that I would gift this beautiful "board book"!

Thank you to NetGalley and publishers for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

There’s lots to like about ‘Vegan Boards’ by Kate Kasbee.
Firstly, it’s (not surprisingly) great for vegans or those who’d like to eat less animal produce.
There are lots of interesting recipes and presentation ideas, and the photos are attractive.
Some of the board combinations (the Mediteranean Grazing Board) made me think ‘yum!’ , but some made me think ‘yuck!’ – hotdogs and marshmallows, anyone?
A few weeks ago I read ‘Tables and Spreads’ by Shelly Westerhausen whose ‘boards’ concept was far stronger. I really couldn’t see why many of the meals in this book were presented on boards, other than that boards are obviously the trend right now. I feel that the ‘board’ concept works best with the tapas/meze style of lots of small dishes surrounded by lots of accompaniments and chopped up veg and Kasbee did many of these beautifully.
But why, for example, would you spread out baguettes and fillings on a board when you could just make a sandwich? Why have an ‘Overnight Guest Board’ when you can just put water, coffee and snacks on any old tray? Why – oh why – would you deconstruct a pasta dish and serve a bowl of plain pasta surrounded by little dishes of the pasta sauce?
I guess that to get a cookbook published, you have to have a ‘hook’ and in this case it was ‘boards’. I will try and overlook that and rate this as a lovely book of vegan food ideas, many of which can which can be perfectly presented on a board.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc.

I absolutely loved this fun cookbook! It is full of the loveliest boards and all recipes and suggestions are vegan-friendly. There are ideas for main meals in addition to the expected sweets and snacks. I can't wait to make these boards when I host meals or have guests over; this would also be perfect for families (I imagine children love eating when food is presented this way).

I look forward to making the Chia Pudding Parfait Board, Family Movie Night Board, Taco Bowl Tuesday Board, Game Day Cauliflower Wings Board, and Watermelon Pizza Board.

Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley, for a digital ARC!

This book is everything! These is literally a board for every occasion. You really never see ideas for vegan boards, so this was definitely one of a kind and much needed. I would 100% recommend this to everyone, vegan or not!

I loved this book! The boards were diverse and interesting, so you didn't get bored. I also was worried when I picked it up that some of the recipes would be too fussy, or not realistic to put together for the average group, but I found it fairly accessible. The photography they used was beautiful as well.

I will not be recommending Vegan Boards to be adopted into the curriculum, but could possibly see this in a classroom library.

Vegan Boards by Kate Kasbee is phenomenal. The photographs, the creativity of the boards, and the recipes at the end have created a need in me to create and use boards for my food. As someone with many food allergies/intolerances, this book blew me away. I am truly so excited to get a copy of this book when it's published to create my boards and to share Vegan Boards with everyone I know, vegan or not.

Vegan Boards is such a beautiful entertaining cookbook. I was in love with the clean text and gorgeous photos of these inventive and tasty looking boards. As I was looking through, I saw a few boards that I knew I wanted to try ASAP! The Breakfast Burrito board would be perfect for the morning after a sleepover for teen girls or even a twenty something and their friends after a night of drinking. Very adaptable for non-vegans as well.

For myself, I think the Netflix Night for Two is the one I will most likely love. Who doesn't want some gooey chocolate brownies and other crunchy goodies while snuggling in with your partner for some binge watching?

I will be urging my adult collection developer to purchase this title and will recommend it to others--Millenials and Gen Z love a good board!

This is a gorgeous book that does much more than give ideas for vegan boards. It includes recipes and tips for putting everything together, whether as a board, a buffet, or just a weekday family meal. It also helps tremendously in the "what's for dinner" department by creating meals that can be customized to individual tastes. Great addition if you have spent the past year cooking and are fresh out of creativity in the kitchen!

“Vegan Boards” by Kate Kasbee is downright gorgeous! I cannot wait to own this and have it displayed in my kitchen. The sections of the book are very well organized. I was very happy to see drink/juice boards included as well; I would have never thought of that. In the introduction, the author helps the reader get organized beforehand by providing them with a list of all of the essential bowls and utensils that will be needed to create the perfect board(s). She also lists some non-essential items that are not necessary, but will help the reader take full advantage of the boards they create. One of the most essential things to include in a cookbook (I don’t know if this is a cookbook per se, but I don’t know what else to call it) is beautiful pictures to accompany the “recipes” – and this book did not disappoint! The pictures of the boards were stunning and the boards were perfectly styled making it very easy to copy at home. These are all plant-based recipes, I didn't think something like this was possible, but I'm so glad it is. I was thrilled to look through this book and I can’t wait to get a copy for myself!

* Please note: I was given an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

Vegan Boards by Kate Kasbee
50 Gorgeous Plant-Based Snack, Meal & Dessert Boards for All Occasions

Mouth-watering photos of beautiful, colorful, delicious looking food with ideas for festive and everyday meals, snacks and desserts made this book one I wanted to return to repeatedly. When I had children at home this book would have been marvelous because I could have put out all of the items everyone in the family liked and then let them build their own meals. I did that in a different way using pots and pans but the idea and look of “boards” is much more festive. I also would like to try this once the pandemic is behind me and I have friends coming to visit again. I have a feeling I might be making a visit to the carpenter for “boards” in round and rectangular shapes just to have them and enjoy using them to serve family and friends on!

Words I wrote down while reading:
* pretty
* colorful
* festive
* fun
* kind of like a mini buffet on a board
* anything goes
* would love to try more than one of these in the future
* had never thought of pasta in buffet/board style
* any meal you serve with condiments could be board-ized
* Great idea to have the recipes collected at the back of the book
* lovely index
* Would love to have this book

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing – Harvard Common Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

# Veganboards, is a feast of a book. The photographs are beautiful and the presentation of the variety of bounty of various foods, fruits and herbs on the boards will inspire you to try to make your own board for your family and your loved ones. For those like me, that are challenged when it comes to figure out what to serve and how to serve the food in such delectable way, this is such a great reference guide.

The author, Kate Kasbee, has written this amazing books, with easy to put together very nourishing food/entertainment boards and simple recipes to make and for convenience some item to just buy. She provides several boards, from breakfast boards, such as sweet and savory to game night and such as meditarrean board, coconut curry and even just a grazing boards, and even a New Years celebration board.

This book is a vegan book, however even if you are not vegan you can add meat items to your board or you can add some nice vegetarian options for your family and friends and present it to then in such a deliciously beautiful way. I am a hundred percent sure that you will impress your family and guest alike.

I highly recommend this yummy book!! Thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher Quarto Publishing Group- Harvard Common Press for providing me with a temporary ARC.

Vegan Boards is a style guide with recipes for beautifully presented plant based spreads by Kate Kasbee. Due out 2nd March 2021 from Quarto on their Harvard Common Press imprint, it's 160 pages and will be available in hardcover and ebook formats.

Sharing food with friends and family is a fundamental visceral pleasure. Doing so around a beautifully prepared and appetizing board is sublime. Although we can't assemble in large groups (because of the pandemic), these intimate spreads are perfect for cozy tête-à-têtes or even making a special effort dining alone.

The introduction covers the basics of building a board including the board itself (not necessarily wooden), bowls, serving utensils, and food considerations. The board setups are arranged thematically: breakfast & brunch boards, grazing at home, meal boards, seasonal & celebration boards, and fruit & dessert boards. The following section of the book contains the recipes used in the boards. Recipe ingredients are listed in a bullet-style sidebar. Measurements are in American standard with most metric measures in parentheses (yay!) followed by step by step instructions. Boards using the recipes are listed in the header. The book doesn't include nutritional information. The recipes are pictured with the finished boards and the pictures are beautifully clear and colorful. Many of the recipes do use prepackaged ingredients and condiments for convenience. The author says clearly that readers who prefer to make items from scratch should do so ("more power to you") but that she includes them for readers who want to save time in the kitchen.

The dishes and boards here aren't *fancy* but they really *feel* special because of the presentation. I liked everything about this book, from the plant based dishes, to the presentation, the clearly written recipes, and the beautiful photography and food styling. Five stars.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

Vegan Boards provides all the recipes and instructions to create 50 stunning plant-based boards. There is a beautiful picture for each one and step by step instructions are given. These are simple and easy to follow. Considering how easy they are to put together the results are stunning. Most board based recipe books are filled with meats and cheese so having one plant based is excellent. The best thing is the mouth watering photographs and just these alone will convince you to have a go.
