Get cosy at The Faraway Inn, the YA fantasy from bestselling author of The Spellshop, Sarah Beth Durst.
When sixteen-year-old Calisa arrives at her great-aunt’s bed and breakfast for the summer, she’s shocked to find it run down rather than cosy. Grumpy and eccentric, Auntie Zee is determined to keep anyone from messing with her beloved inn . . . even though she clearly needs the help.
To convince her great-aunt to keep her around, Calisa sets to work fixing up the inn, enlisting extra help from the groundkeeper’s (handsome) son. But the longer she stays, the surer she is that there’s something strange about the B&B – and its residents. Something almost . . . otherworldly.
The inn is hiding a magical secret – but secrets are like doors. Once Calisa opens this one, she won’t be able to go back . . .
'Filled with magical mysteries, whimsical surprises, and a dash of sweet romance, The Faraway Inn is the perfect cozy read' – Axie Oh, author of The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea

This was such a charming, cozy read with a touch of magic! The main character is trying to get over heartbreak and ends up spending the summer with a distant relative who’s not exactly thrilled to have her. While navigating their complicated relationship, she uncovers secrets about the Inn and learns a lot about herself along the way. I loved how the story explores finding what you truly want versus what you thought your life should be. It’s heartwarming, magical, and uplifting.
Sarah Beth Durst has done it again with this cozy YA fantasy. The Faraway Inn provides a respite for beings from other realms, but as the innkeeper, Auntie Zee, gets older, it becomes harder to maintain the magical retreat. Her grand neice Carisa comes to stay for the summer, unaware of the inn's true purpose, and soon learns that things are not as they seem. As she grows to love the inn and it's resident handyman Jack, she realises that she may be the key to saving the inn. Perfect for readers both young and old who are looking for their own magical escape from reality, this delightful story is sure to entertain.
