Emma the Elephant is a children’s book about a little elephant named Emma and her herd. Emma always wanted to be like her mother who had a big heart and thick skin. Every year the herd with travel for days “following the water.” Emma learned many lessons from her family during this journey such as sticking close to her family, sharing, kindness, helping others, having a big heart, courage, and having a thick skin to endure life’s troubles to keep going. During this journey Emma became the big hearted, thick skinned strong elephant she always wanted to be.

The book was a beautiful story of family and how a family was always there in good times and in need of help. It showed a young elephant learning important values such as family, love, sharing, helping, sacrifice, kindness, etc.
