128 Questions About ADHD: A Guided Self-Discovery Journey to Look Back and Move Forward by Katherine P. Snedaker, LCSW, and Edward M. Hallowell, MD, offers something refreshingly different in the crowded ADHD self-help space: it asks you to slow down and actually reflect on your own story rather than handing you a checklist or a list of productivity hacks.

The format is genuinely engaging. Working through 128 thoughtful, layered questions encourages real self-awareness, and the inclusion of eight contributors who share their own ADHD experiences adds warmth, humor, and a sense of community that keeps the book from feeling clinical. Snedaker's updates feel grounded in the realities of adult life in today's overstimulating, always-online world, and the Hallowell foundation lends the material serious credibility.

Where the book shines is in helping readers connect the dots between past experiences and present patterns. For anyone who has wondered "why am I like this?" for decades, that reframing is genuinely meaningful.

A few of the questions felt repetitive in places, and readers looking for concrete strategies or clinical guidance may want a companion resource alongside this one. But as a tool for self-discovery and reflection, it delivers.

Recommended for anyone newly diagnosed, currently exploring whether ADHD fits their experience, or simply looking for a more personal, introspective approach to understanding how their brain works.

I liked the idea/concept and the execution plenty.
We have questions to self-interview and share with loved ones.
Then a diverse representation of people with ADHD let us know how they answered each question.
It showed the variety in our experiences and that ADHD symptoms exist on a spectrum.
The questions were fresh and gave a unique angle/offered a fresh perspective. I was not officially diagnosed, but have several close family members who have been, and the tests I answered with/for them as a caregiver, or any sample tests I had encountered for adult ADHD felt more limiting whereas the questions here allow you to understand your struggles and strengths better.
