"...and I turn toward him still."
As someone who loves mythology, I was immediately intrigued by this spicy retelling of Apollo and Daphne. Eva Darcy takes a familiar Greek myth and transforms it into something dark, seductive, and surprisingly character-driven. I really enjoyed Daphne in this version. She's strong-willed, independent, and refuses to give up her autonomy, making the push-and-pull between her and Apollo much more compelling than the original myth. Their banter was entertaining, and the enemies-to-lovers tension kept me invested throughout. This is definitely on the darker side, with consensual BDSM elements woven into the romance. Those scenes fit the dynamic between the characters and never overshadowed the emotional development. The chemistry was intense, and the pacing kept the story moving. If you're looking for a Greek mythology retelling that leans into romance, power dynamics, and plenty of spice, Bound Maiden: Daphne's Chase delivers. Just be sure to check the content warnings beforehand, as this is very much an adult, explicit retelling.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! The plot is much more emotional than I expected and explored some interesting questions about love and free will.
The story is based on the tale of Apollo and Daphne, but with a wholesale twist.
The characters are endearing and the relationship is surprisingly romantic and passionate, not dark at all.
The spicy scenes happen in the first half of the book. After that the story gets a bit more philosophical.
I found the writing very compelling and the story brought me to tears.
