Kristen Tremonti Reiter | She Writes Press

Description

Maybe a Note Would Help is a heartfelt exploration of how handwritten notes can deepen connections, combat loneliness, and foster personal growth—an essential guide for readers seeking to nurture authentic relationships in today’s digital age.

In 2021, Kristen Tremonti Reiter finds herself on the edge of depression and despair—uprooted, ungrounded, and disconnected. She writes a simple note of gratitude, but has no idea it will lead to a calling, a challenge, and a new place to call home.

The response to her note is so profound, she embarks upon a quest to handwrite a note every day for a year—a year that includes living out of her suitcase in one city after another. She discovers that her notes to others provide the foundation for her mental, spiritual, and physical health while everything else in her life changes.

Maybe a Note Would Help documents Kristen’s remarkable note-writing journey of personal transformation and encourages readers to enjoy a similar experience. Ultimately, we discover that a joyful way to interact more intentionally, connect more completely, uplift others, and feel better in your own skin is only a note away.

This book went straight to my heart. I always feel better mentally after I write a letter or send out a card to someone. Kristen’s book proves that notes can help heal. I was fascinated with the information she shared. I thank NetGalley for the ARC. This is a book I desire on my shelf.

As a long-time note writer, I was not sure what more I could learn. I was so wrong, but in the best way! The information the author supplies in support of letter writing is so motivational! She talks about ways notes help others, as well as the writer. She even has chapters explaining how to write a great note for those who are just starting. I’m so happy I decided to give this book a try, and even more happy to continue on my letter-writing journey!

Absolutely heartwarming and inspiring! It’s not just a book about writing notes, it’s about being alive again. About living with love, through the act of note-writing; A wholly spiritual experience that’s right at your fingertips.

Kristen is a torch bearer for her Grandma Margaret’s light, the power of her influence is felt deeply in these pages. Not only that, she is preaching what she has practiced from some of the most troubling times in her life. I connected with her immediately, her realness is refreshing and reading her own notes lifts your spirits.

Those who are new to writing, this book snubs out any worries, concerns, fears or apprehensions. The author gives many thorough prompts and ideas when it comes to the ‘what’ and how’ of writing. Even those who may have a regular practice of writing can find things to try. I loved the out-of-the-box ideas like writing to animals, places and your old school teacher.

Kristen champions note-writing as the very-much-needed antidote to the increased loneliness in this tech-era, and I agree. I can see this practice bringing so much joy and connection back into people’s lives. I would love to see this being included therapeutically in people’s self-care toolkits, because healing doesn’t just happen on our own, it happens through connection. I’ve already got the ball rolling to write my first letters to my nieces and nephews so they can experience the excitement of receiving mail and be part of this heartfelt movement!

If you want to live a more expansive and meaningful life; Maybe A Note Would Help for sure!

I was very keen to read this book about note writing and gratitude by Kristen Tremonti Reiter, and it did not disappoint. As the author points out, we so often communicate (text) without much thought, and after reading this book I genuinely feel inspired to start writing more handwritten notes.

Kristen Tremonti Reiter shares examples from her own note writing practice and weaves in research and sources throughout. The prompts, steps, and templates are especially helpful, as are the suggestions about who to write to and how to actually begin. This book has definitely made me want to stock up on note-writing supplies!

The book is clearly written, engaging, and well structured, making it an easy and enjoyable read. I would absolutely recommend this to others, and I think it would make a lovely and thoughtful gift too. I was very pleased to receive this advance review copy from NetGalley and the publisher, and this is my honest review.
