The book looks at wild flowers and gives some information on growing them at home. I spent much of my childhood in hospital after eating poisonous plants and there are warnings on some of the plants. Not sure they are sufficient but I think this book is for adults who probably won’t eat random berries and there are warnings on don’t touch the plants. An absolutely beautiful book by an author I’ve previously enjoyed. It has lots of photos that make it much easier to identify each flower. There are details on how to grow the flowers in your home then information on how to identify the plant, history about the plant, folklore and folk medicine. There is not lots of information about each plant but enough to give an idea about the plant and also I think it’s a really good launch pad to go from and also a good book to read about if want ides of plants to introduce to your family.
Ways of preparing the plants and preserving them is also described which I think really helps round the book up.
I think it would make a fabulous present book, the one I have physically was bought from a lovely little book shop and as a hard back book is beautiful. I am guessing this one would be similar. My electronic version was excellent.
I will definitely keep referring to this book for a long time in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this book for my consideration, this is all my own rambling, honest and personal opinion.
